On Friday I went to the National Gallery of Art and walked through the special Rothko exhibition twice. Watching the transition from form to ephermeral whisps to bold colour to the bleak blocks right before his suicide?
It was a whole life without words.
@Ramsey_Kilani@EricDLombardi Car seats have gotten safer (bigger), kids stay in them longer, cars also more expensive.
Anyway that's my Malcolm Gladwell "feels right" hypothesis.
@EricDLombardi@Ramsey_Kilani Confession: haven't read the stats, but the cost of ADDITIONAL kids isn't linear. 3 is logorythmic (cars, hotel rooms are 2 examples)
@EricDLombardi@Ramsey_Kilani Here's a factor that will delight @Ramsey_Kilani!
Cost of cars. Can barely squeeze two modern carseats in a basic car. If you want a 3rd kid w in 5 years of #1, you will need to upgrade to a 3rd row SUV/van. Has been cited multiple times to me about delaying adding (more) kids.
But the biggest thank you to @tedhsu for being an incredible leader - for being thoughtful when things are complex and decisive when we needed to make a call. Ted is the best of Ontario, honestly.
A few notes re. #olpldr -- as the final hours of voting wound down.
For the past (eternity?) I've been chairing the policy team for @tedhsu - and I could not be prouder of the incredible work we've been able to put out.
@tedhsu Thank as well as the countless folks working in policy and advocacy across the province - I've been reading your submissions and briefing notes!! Thank you for your emails, phone calls, persuasion and call-outs.
*taps mic* Is this thing on?
Calling all moms!! Participate in research from my former lab! Amazing people and super important work. Happy to answer any questions!

More work to do in terms of closing gaps and boosting support for the sector. Not time to rest on laurels but the progress shows the power of cross-partisan cooperation across business and labour. As a parent of 2x in daycare, thank you!
The impact of the child care fee reduction: in terms of access to quality care, in terms of workforce participation, is incredible. Kudos to the generations who have lead the charge for change!
Thank you @mastercard for todayβs @apec_ceosummit luncheon on inclusive growth. Was proud to hear @worldbankβs @bjerde_anna praise Canada for its child care policy. This policy was only made possible because @cafreeland, business leaders, and labour came together in common cause.
