Today’s @ielbp LL.M. colloquium is about #trade. And we’ll be hosting Prof. David Gantz to discuss the main features of #USMCA—a.k.a. the “New NAFTA”—and other hot topics in international trade. Tweet us the questions you would like to ask Prof. Gantz and we’ll ask them for you!

Today Alan Sykes and Judith Goldstein are speaking to the @ielbp students on #trade. We're starting with history (@loyaladvisor) of the multilateral trade system, exploring the differences between the GATT and the WTO (how the GATT was not, and never meant to be, an organization)

Plus we'll consider politics of U.S. trade policy. Is Trump the first elected leader to propose an America First trade policy? Why is there little emphasis on helping the "losers" from U.S. trade policy? Why is the U.S. invoking national security to take unilateral trade actions?
