@TamarHaspel@FortuneMagazine@BoweryFarming @TamarHaspelo Glad you asked! @BoweryFarming sources all of our energy from certified low-impact hydroelectricity projects and as we grow, our team is committed to using 100% renewable energy to power our future farms based on location and availability.
Agriculture is the second largest contributor to global greenhouse gasses slightly behind energy and yet the technological innovation in ag is just beginning with so much potential ahead. This is critical infrastructure for our food system
Today @FortuneMagazine published my Oped talking about how the federal government can help support ag innovation, growth & leadership similarly to how we've enabled so much advancement in renewable energy, EV's and other critical areas of our economy 🧵

When people ask why I'm optimistic about the future in what feels like a continuous onslaught of challenges, it's because of the incredible innovation that's happening in so many areas of our economy. Agriculture is a critical part of this
Good thread that's worth a read from @YQuint about the pieces that came out today on the plant-based meat industry. Yossi is well positioned to understand the challenges as well as the opportunities facing this category given his current work as well as his prior life.
Plant-based meat is struggling (see @deenashanker Bloomberg piece or @shannonosaka WashPo piece, both published today). A lot of the convo has been around PB being overly processed or not healthy. Price and taste get airtime but are the side-dish. I disagree. 🧵
I'm thrilled to see this type of innovation. Palm Oil is devastating on so many levels and it's ubiquitous in our everyday products. We must find a better way. Cheering for @C16Bio !

@scottbelsky Or else build a compelling product / api that plugs into any co data warehouse and builds a larger and larger set of cross-company info on a customer. That would push co's to want to opt-in. Basically tech-driven coalition loyalty
@scottbelsky The largest value in the status for co's is in the data itself and thus the portability tool would need to bring along all the data / personalization info which inherently requires co's to consent.
@scottbelsky There are examples of this working in the coalition loyalty model which is much more popular in Canada (i.e. AirMiles) where you can earn across partners, but ultimately the issue with portability is co's don't want that customer loyalty / data going to competitors
