I just vibecoded an app with Opus 5 to solve this and alert me if ChatGPT/Codex end up eating too far into my SSD and adding wear and tear to it. Looks like it's going pretty smooth so far.

Damn, looks like this Codex bug really did kill my SSD, which was only 13 months old and cost me $478 (Samsung SSD 9100 PRO 4TB, PCIe 5.0x4 M.2) but now costs $902 for the same thing. It sucks because I noticed those log files growing uncontrollably and should've stopped it.
