After cars were banned from the Panhandle the road remained for nearly a decade.

Like the former great highway, it’s both an incredible pedestrianized space and there’s more than enough adjacent car capacity.

We’re not going back. Sunset Dunes is here to stay.

I'm not sure how many people rely on that type of ticket, but you/@Caltrain may want to broadcast that change more broadly.

I don't see any notification about this within the app and I'd assume only a small percentage of riders will see this tweet.

@CaltrainAlerts Just an FYI this announcement only came through over the speakers at the station and not on the digital displays. I think maybe 75% of people at the station missed the announcement and had to run around the ends of the train as it arrived

You’ll barely notice, but this arterial road is intersected by several side streets.

Rather than sinking humans down into the space of crossing cars, the foot and cycle paths are raised, continuous and prioritized—reducing driver entitlement.

This should be standard everywhere.

Double street "closure" today in @SunnyvaleDwtn for the Farmers Market (on Washington) and the Mid-Autumn Festival (on Mathilda).

Amazing pedestrian spaces. No impact to traffic. More of this please. These streets should be permanently closed to cars and _opened_ to people.
