For the first time in English, Tove Jansson’s enchanting illustrations for The Hobbit are being published in a new edition celebrating 90 years of Tolkien’s classic.

Jansson, best known as the creator of the Moomins, originally illustrated a Swedish edition in 1960. Her whimsical artwork will finally be available to English-speaking readers when the book releases in September (UK) and October (US) 2026. 📚✨
