That's not just a payments deal. That's a fintech/stablecoin consolidation and future infrastructure play.

Stripe has Bridge. Stripe has Tempo blockchain. Stripe has the Agentic Commerce Suite.

PayPal has PYUSD, 400M users, and global merchant rails.

Together? The most complete stablecoin-to-consumer payment stack ever assembled.
And PayPal hasn't even said yes yet.

Remember when fintechs wanted to disrupt banks?

Now they’re becoming them.

Circle officially joins the growing list of fintech and digital asset firms with an OCC banking/trust charter.

I expect at least 5 more approvals by end of 2026.

The next phase of fintech isn’t building around banks.

It’s becoming one.
