Published in @ACSPublications, a research paper from Prof. Arun Venkatnathan’s group from #ChemistryDept at #IISERPune explores the fundamental molecular dynamics driving high-performance lithium battery electrolytes 🔋
Using Density Functional Theory (DFT), ab initio molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, and Classical MD simulations, authors Nayan Dey and Arun Venkatnathan demonstrated that the composition of EC–DMC mixed solvents with LiFSI salt dictates ionic conductivity and identified an optimal EC mole fraction of 0.3–0.4 for peak ionic conductivity. Their results describe an optimum EC/DMC composition as a suitable solvent for battery electrolytes.🔋✨
