Your sign to unfollow me:
1. I hate every political party in India, including BJP, Congress, AAP, TMC, etc.
2. You'll always see me supporting the people and not the govt; the govt is not India, the people are.
3. I hate all organised religion, but I will never suppress someone's right to practice any religion as long as it doesn't harm other human beings.
4. Arguing, dissent, and debate regarding government policies is not anti-national; it is actually democracy at its core.
5. Feminism is the default
6. Any government member is a public servant, and they deserve as much respect as another human being, nothing more. They are not VIPs, rulers, or kings like a lot of them think themselves to be; they are servants of the public.
Everyone who is against the protests happening in India today should remember one thing:
Almost every right you enjoy today exists because someone.. at some point in history, refused to stay silent.
The freedom you have as an Indian.
The rights u have as a woman.
Reservations secured for social justice.
Labour rights, civil rights, voting rights, freedom of expression.. none of these were handed out because the 'privileged' politely asked for them.
Someone took to the streets.. someone challenged the system.. someone made their hands dirty.. someone disrupted the status quo.. someone was called 'troublesome' 'anti-national' 'annoying' or ' nuisance'
And today.. we have the privilege of sitting comfortably at home, opening your phone and lecturing protesters about how much we dislike protests.
This very privilege exists because someone before us protested for it.
You don't have to support every protest.. but dismissing protest itself as something that 'shouldn't happen' is a remarkably privileged position to take.

I assure you, we have all been harassed and assaulted. Every woman I know. The only reason I am not a headline is sheer luck and privilege. And for most of us it’s not a matter of if but when.
not to get too #real on here, but being a woman online feels like a slow descent into madness. Like it actually feels like self harm. I feel crazy just seeing the filth and depravity men are capable of. How can I be expected to live amongst them? When I know what they do?
yes the Cornell rape incident is horrible, but a more overlooked sinister detail is that they advertised it in a group chat and NONE of the guys reported it or stopped them. Men enable men.
when you're having an argument with a man about feminism and you realize nothing you say will ever get through to them bcoz they don't feel empathy for something they've never experienced
i am angry but not surprised at the cornell rape story because for years my generation has been trying to tell you all that the boys we grew up with are turning into monsters, fueled by preexisting rape culture + turbocharged by an algorithm that encourages them to hate women
@LateefSaka That's what?? when you decide to do something vile like this
YOU make the descision to live the consequences
Someone merely exposing you is not in the wrong
Have you ever been sexually assaulted or experienced unwanted sexual contact by a man?
You don’t have to tell your story. I want men to see the answers.
Funny how women know so many victims, but men never seem to know a rapist.
to the men who say, “I’m too scared to even touch a woman in this Me Too era because of the possibility of an allegation.”
GOOD. Don’t touch us. Don’t touch us unless we ask. Live by that. Act by that. We would greatly appreciate it.
