“Fear is rooted in isolated violations and a rejection of government narratives . . . direct government outreach cannot fix this fear because locals don’t trust the government’s words or actions. Rather, they need civil society intermediaries.” (A christian activist)

#SDF commander General @MazloumAbdi said he request to include representatives from the #Alawite and #Druse communities in the discussions to execute the March 2025 agreement between SDF and the regime in Damascus.

After yesterday heinous attacks in #Homs and the massacre on the Syrian coast, Sheikh Ghazal Ghazal — Head of the Supreme Alawite Islamic Council — delivers one of the strongest public condemnations yet of the new Syrian government. English-subtitled video:

He calls for federalism and political decentralization “to guarantee our rights and yours, far from terrorism,” adding:
“We will not hand ourselves over to humiliation or servitude. Never. #Syria

In Amed, belief is limited and expectations are concrete. Residents link peace to bread, jobs, elected mayors restored, prisoners released, and safety on the streets, not slogans. Full story by Rengin Azizoğlu:
