I worked at Telus when they launched two “state-of-art” datacentres in Rimouski and Kamloops about 10 years ago. A lot of hype but we ended up building digital on AWS and later on GCP regardless because we had to schedule any workload 6 months in advance… They just rebranded them into… wait for it: Sovereign AI Factories. Yes. Much Sovereign. Very Canada.
