Read the great article on the @CockroachDB blog from @_ostriches and @imjching about dynamic scaling in Kubernetes to support fast startup times in Serverless.

@Sirupsen I did a similar thing in Toronto, but resorted to Kijiji in the end. Found a Skating instructor for 1-1 weekly hourly lessons. She crafted a curriculum for me based on where I am, and what I’d like to learn next. Probably Ottawa has something similar too :)
🎉 Introducing: CockroachDB Serverless
The massively scalable SQL database for developers
✌️ Thank you to all the early serverless database users from our community! You created thousands of cloud db's & provided invaluable feedback. We appreciate you!

Introducing @CockroachDB Serverless Beta: instant access to a scalable relational database that you can spin up in seconds without having to worry about hardware details. Pay for what you use and pay nothing for small apps. How did we get here? 🧵
@CockroachDB Learn about systems generally: positive and negative feedback loops, load balancing and failover, queuing and backpressure and load shedding, concurrency and parallelism. These patterns recur at all levels of modern software stacks, from distributed systems to language runtimes.
Incredibly proud of the team at Cockroach Labs and what we've built in @cockroachdb. The latest round of funding is evidence of how much we've accomplished, and will unlock the next stage of our journey. https://t.co/1FEkjzOymT
While I'm in such a happy mood today, I just wanted to take a moment to appreciate @firefox. It's been my go-to development browser for NEW MAGIC, and I've really enjoyed it 🙏❤️. A diverse web in backends / frontends / browsers / all the things is a BETTER WEB.
A job is about a lot more than a paycheck.
It's about dignity. It's about respect. It's about being able to look your kid in the eye and say everything will be okay.
Too many people today can't do that — and it's got to change.
@irfansharifm This is interesting. Was there a minimum timeframe that you needed to wait in order to get that PR sponsorship? I also realized that there's this Federal Skilled Worker program that I might be eligible for after graduation.
Immigration work is a pain. I made multiple calls to IRCC today just to confirm that I could work part-time because my new study permit that I received yesterday has two contradicting statements: one saying that I could accept employment, and the other saying that I couldn't. 1/2
@irfansharifm This poses a higher risk than usual of that permit getting rejected due to administrative errors. If that happens, this might leave me with unemployment (IIUC) while I wait for the appeal, which is really unfortunate. 2/2
@irfansharifm My undergraduate path isn’t conventional as I took a break and left Canada during that term. That said, I still qualify for PGWP, and I’ll need to ensure that explanations are clear. 1/2
