There is a chapter in Qur’an called Ad-Dukhan (The Smoke). The word can also mean tobacco & often does in daily language. The word entered many languages to mean tobacco.

The chapter opens with nocturnal verses. Smoke is the Presence & what miracle, rises from ash!
