tldr: i've lost hundreds of ETH on prediction markets more than 6 years ago, so that you don't have to lose money today :) it's been over 6 years since I lost hundreds of ETH in prediction markets like @AugurProject due to unclear arbitration of rules + markets, and sadly today there is still a lot of the same confusion around prediction markets with the current definitions in how markets resolve on all platforms a thread on some of the current yet to be fully-resolved painpoints on clarity of market outcomes, like @megaeth 's deposit contract on Sonar, and how you can be better prepared. 1/n

A week in Hong Kong comes to wraps, and we have a few top takeaways 1. It was super super super clear. @solana ecosystem and sentiment is still incredibly strong offline, and clearly has the most users who are active and looking to get deeper into the ecosystem as a whole. The ecosystem builders turnout was insane! 2. Have to respect that Solana ecosystem has some very interesting diversity of experience of OG's like @calilyliu still bringing the same energy for now 10+ years in crypto + going strong, and also the place where @tl_solana entered the space at 15 with an exit and now is contributing to @SuperteamUK. The heritage and energy of builders new and old is super clear to see. Have to give some big list of solana builders that were incredibly helpful this week (and deserve some extra follows for the EVM souls out there who need to learn more about all things Solana) @Solana_zh @ynonestop @1cryptosheep @JupiterExchange @MeteoraAG @soon_svm @frankmiao @SonicSVM @Chrizhuu @darcyasks @SuperteamSG @tongnk @solayer_labs @fragmetric @sangdotsol @SolZacque @SuperteamMY @ZeusNetworkHQ @JamboTechnology @sns @honeycomb_prtcl @RateX_Dex @AdrasteaFinance and more! 3. Huge shoutout to @SCB10X_OFFICIAL and the @rubie_io team here to make crypto-native payments easier for everyone visiting Thailand for @efdevcon this year. The team at @rubie_io has been working hard this year, to get the buy-in, regulatory clearance, and then ship an awesome product to let you have a better crypto-native experience while visiting Thailand. I am so proud of seeing the building happening over this year and that everything is now finally public and ready for users to try. Think this is worth a deeper story time of how builders from Thailand have been a huge support for @impossible_ and why we are so bullish Thailand and the Thailand ecosystem. 2 years ago, post having funds stuck in FTX, we at @impossible_ were looking for new business lines and ways to scale with lower risk while still getting to focus on what we wanted, which is always make an impact on early stage projects. Just a few months before FTX happened, @unnawut invited myself and @howard_ to be judges for SCB10X's Blockcamp hackathon, and it gave us the first chance at seeing more of the awesome building that was happening here. Seeking more inspiration and ways to learn from the scale of real-world innovation, we considered finding more ways to scale into Southeast Asia, with a lot of our team originally from various Southeast Asia countries, we decided to visit many of them to start building more of a hub in each. Post-FTX, @TaiPanich_ and many others of the awesome builders inside SCB10X and the greater family of builders in the ecosystem, ranging from @nansenportfolio @Tokenomist_ai @ApeWAGMI @TheSandboxGame @Tetration_Lab @SinestiaETH @0xyoyoismee @yyyoisha @degenalchemist @tansawit @_nonthakon and more that welcomed us to Thailand two years ago + gave us a place to meet builders, discuss about the latest things in crypto, from the ETH Merge, to node running, to MEV, to ZK, to fully onchain games, you name it, the depth of SCB10X's involvement within crypto was the deepest we've ever seen from any bank-affiliated entity in the world, period. I still remember getting to sit in the SCB10X's DistrictX office til 3am with @ianw888 to brainstorm on the whiteboards, what could we do to make a more sustainable business within crypto. It's cliche, but I think as a builder, you always remember the folks who support you in your toughest times, and for us, a lot of this happened in Thailand. A lot of the ability for Impossible to survive and stay energized during the last few years of tough market conditions have been thanks to the efforts that Thailand and Thai builders that have created a welcoming environment for builders from around the world to build a place here. Great people, great vibes, great food, great internet (5G internet is affordable for all here, and sorry new york, it actually works on subways.), great hospitality. What more do you want to build? Now today, with @rubie_io, super excited to explain a bit more of the magic that is happening here, and why I'm excited for you guys to all see the merits of Thailand as a potential to be the #1 crypto hub of the world. This initiative, supported by @SCB10X_OFFICIAL and SCB's merchant network, will allow for visitors coming to Thailand during Devcon to use QR-powered payments to pay with a Thai Baht stablecoin onchain for everyday transactions. Coffee, lunch, you name it, you'll be able to swap with USDC in to get the THBx on @base This will be the first of hopefully many cool onchain experiments, fully compliant and authorized by the Bank of Thailand and the Thai SEC. After seeing so many builders not be welcomed with open arms (cc: @ASvanevik in Singapore), because of the nature of the industry of crypto, and seeing so many Western builders also facing regulatory uncertainty in their jurisdictions, I think this is a culminating point for the country of Thailand to make a statement on the possibility of building in crypto safely and with users' protections in mind. We hope you guys have an awesome trip here in Thailand during this month for Devcon, and super excited to see the seamlessness of QR payments in regular world now start to come to crypto as well.
