Dr. Tasha-Kay Walker-Palmer is my study partner from med school.
The most dedicated doctor I know, at literally any hour at hospital helping patients.
While travelling, she had to be rushed to operating theatre.

Interested in gaining field experience?
Some of my colleagues at UWI are looking for volunteers to assist with research projects on campus. Most opportunities do not currently have a stipend, but they offer valuable hands-on experience, networking, and exposure to real-world research.
Research students, in particular, would greatly appreciate the support.
If you're interested in conservation, biology, ecology, or field research, reach out.

Brushy One String, # Jamaican #Reggae and soul singer born Andrew Anthony Chin, many years ago on 30 May, in Ocho Rios. Known for performing on a single-string acoustic guitar. Son of reggae singer Freddie McKay and Beverly Foster, a backing vocalist who toured with Tina Turner, Chin was orphaned in childhood, raised by his grandmother in Linstead, St. Catherine. Received no formal education; taught himself to read as an adult.
Inspired by a teenage vision, Chin adapted a worn acoustic guitar to a single low-E string, using the body as percussion to produce a style blending blues, reggae, and rhythm and blues. He came to international attention after Italian filmmaker Luciano Blotta featured his song “Chicken in the Corn” in the 2007 documentary Rise Up. The viral spread of the song’s YouTube video, amassing over 70 million views brought him global recognition. A documentary about his life, The King of One String, was released in 2014.
Brushy has performed at major international venues including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and South by Southwest. His debut studio album, Destiny, draws comparisons to Delta blues and classic soul. He is widely regarded as one of #Jamaica’s most distinctive and original musical voices. #Caribbean

We are carrying out a study to document whether these bugs are found in Jamaica. Some local names include “kissing bugs” or “mother grudgeful.”
There is also another bug commonly found on plants that can look similar, so we are asking the public to share observations and photos to help with identification.
If you see a bug that looks like this, please send the location, date, and a clear photo to @RoostersWorldJA or email [email protected].
Please share this post with your network so we can gather more information from across Jamaica. 🇯🇲
