@FBRSpokesperson I am non resident Pakistani. It has happend with me also that i forgot to tick "Non Resident attribute value". But if a person is claiming that his income is forigen generated. Cant you check his passport that he is out of country for more than 185 days?
@SaudSami Budget should not have any negative impact on BYD. Local assembled EVs will enjoy low taxes. Imported CBUs will be impacted. BYD is targeting local assembly before end of 2026
There is a lot of noise around two-part tariff, but it is only bad math. The proposed tariff regime actually allows you to significantly "reduce" your variable cost, and incentivizes you to grow more. Effectively, if you want to grow production, this actually serves your interests

@annusraza GAC entry and their cars are not going to canabilize BYD sales. Rather it will grow the BEV segment market by generating more awareness and giving comfort to customers that these cars are here to stay with good resale. Lucky & HUBCO are big groups. They will develop the market.
Meezan Bank Q1 2026 is out. Rs 23.4bn profit, up 6% YoY. Rs 7.50 per share interim dividend.
Surface reading: Pakistan's largest Islamic bank looks healthy. But the balance sheet is telling a very different story, and it is really about the whole banking sector 🧵
@smoazzamhussain My theory is that war will end soon. Fuel prices will come down too. But the scar of imported fuel depedency and feeling of vulnerability will not go away. And it will trigger EV adaption.
@MiftahIsmail With all due respect if govt intention was to increase taxes, why did they burned Rs 129 billion in form of subsidies since 01-March? Is govt confused that first they give relief of Rs 129 billion and then they increase taxes?
@MiftahIsmail@VeqarIslam You served as Finance Minister with phd in economics from Wharton. Govt moved levy of Rs 55 from diesel to petrol to cross subsidize diesel, to reduce impact on farmers/transport sector. Despite knowing you are playing politics by misleading public who dont understand numbers
-Brent Oil price has gone up by 43% from 65$ to 93$
-If this increase is applied on earlier petrol prices (Rs 260) in Pakistan, it is equal to Rs 111 increase. Govt yestarday increased the price by Rs 55 so far(21% increase).
-It means another Rs 50-60 price increase expected.
@qaisarnadeeem Quick Question. Many people may go off grid. What people missed out is govt toying with the idea of increasing fixed charges in parallel and reducing variable rates. For people going off grid, govt may jack fixed charges or introduce some form of tax for such customers
@AliKhizar When Air Blue was launched its main financers were Jahangir Siddiqui group. It is not a small group. Dont take Air Blue lightly in PIA bidding race:)
