The Maldives media scene looks as if it’s really broiling.
Ultimate goal is to make everything look shiny with tightly controlled information from the state being disseminated via various mediums.
We are just one step away from “Confession Booth with the Cabinet” or “Divorce Court with Top Tier Executives”.
Oh the irony.
Why is WHO so concerned about the affordability of cigarettes in Maldives? Someone should inform them we have shortage of medicine which is a bigger health related issue. 😭
Be boring in the right ways. Go to bed early. Wake up early. Eat simple foods. Save money. Exercise. Read old books. Avoid drama. Boring is seriously underrated.
SubhanAllah… today I learned something that shifted my entire perspective.
In class, the ustadh asked:
“Why do people die?”
Most of us answered:
“Because their time (ajal) has come.”
He said: No
Managed to borrow an unexpected 48 hours to spend at home with my family, and booked a flight on an extremely tight schedule. @MaldivianAero has appallingly cancelled that flight last minute, costing me precious time, energy and money.
i see more fitna in the future due to MDP’s Binveriya scam for Male meehun only.
Years of negligence & not having a vision for sustainable & affordable living conditions…
And the difficulties faced by many living in Male’…
plus the very real knowledge of the wealth associated with getting free land & that too prime real estate…
Lead a group of Male’ people to to push the previous govt to make use of the chance… and give these free lands plots to just Male’ people, to influence the vote & to ensure land is given to loyal people & then some!
i’ve heard people who really think Male’ people, aka people who are registered to Male’ on their birth certificate & are above 18 years of age deserve free land in Male’ area,
whereas other Dhivehin not registered at birth in Male’, but has lived all or most of their lives in Male’, however old they are…
should wait or buy an apartment or go back to the place they are registered in.
I fail to understand how such a fitna can ever bring anything but the age old supremacist arrogant Male’ beyfulhu mentality!
In a larger scale!
Today being registered to Male’ is the new beyfulhu!
To be registered to Male’ is the key factor for whether or not a raiyithu meeha getting or not getting free land in the home he/she has always known.
Male’ people only getting free land in all lagoons being filled & built as cities, around Male’,
being discriminatory & inequitable aside…
It also makes freedom of movement & our right to choose where we want to live, with the same rights, within Raajje, a non existent reality!
Our constitution however says otherwise!
Nonetheless this unconstitutional policy is being entertained by this govt also.
And of course will be pushed & used to manipulate the govt by those who were hastily given a registry for land, including in lagoons which has yet to be filled!
Anti corruption was silent!
Politicians were silent!
Silence still!
This Greater Male’ area is where all Dhivehin are coming & being brought due to necessity.
All will become rent slaves to Male’ meeha!
Another generation of landlord class!
Fitna is what it shall bring!
If all Dhivehin are not treated equally & equitably.
Dhivehinge’ Raajje…
can happen ONLY when we are all treated the same!
Half Maldivians aren’t a problem.. half Sri Lankans aren’t a problem.. half Indians or Bangladeshis aren’t a problem.. but xenophobic half-wits like you are a huge problem!
Airport taxi experience made me feel just how unruly this country is. Drivers vehemently declining rides to Male’. A mile long Q with too many annoyingly Q jumping.
Was hours before a driver finally listened to desperate pleas & accepted a ride, charging however much he fancied!
It’s been hours on end with power outage in Kulhudhuffushi.. I suppose they don’t count unless it comes to voting?

Ah yes indeed I’m glad you asked! It’s testament to just how spectacularly the pathetic line up in the entire political spectrum has failed us and the country.
No matter which evil wins at the the end, we remain hopeless and helpless. It’s tragic.
Early career years are painful.
You feel like an idiot 98% of the time - lost, confused and insecure.
I wish I had a cheat sheet of principles for my first job.
So I put one together.
Here are 20 things about building a career I wish I knew sooner:
