15 years ago I was in Russia when @novaya_gazeta journalist Anna Politkovskaya was killed just because she used her freedom of speech through her journalism. It was a really sad day. I am therefore really happy about this year’s #NobelPeacePrize winners.

@EllaMinty And as always, do your research and know your audience. Act ethically and be honest, as Norway is a small, transparent country. We have a lot of good journalists, so if your organisation behave unethically it will most likely be exposed in public. #PowerandInfluence

@EllaMinty You should learn as much as you can about the media landscape and how the decision making processes work. It’s a good start to contact the local newspaper in the area you want to start your business, as that might give you some good publicity #PowerandInfluence

I also want to add that Norwegians also trust the national newspapers and the broadcasting channels NRK and TV2. More Norwegians trusted the media than social media when it came to covid- related news according to a poll by Kantar in 2020. #PowerandInfluence

In Norway:
1. Local and regional publications are very trusted
2. Social media usage and platforms are age segmented
3. Influencers are often used
4. There is no lobbying register

@rfzeitlin @EllaMinty And I meant to say if they have broken the advertisement marking rule (I noticed that some words were missing) And it’s the organisation that hire the influencer for their ad that have to pay the fine. #PowerandInfluence

@rfzeitlin @EllaMinty The party I work for, The Socialist Left Party pushed for the retouching law to be made. Yes, influencers have been fined if they have broken the advertisement. The Norwegian Consumer Agency is policing this. #PowerandInfluence
