Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding accountability for the police response during the student protests in Delhi on 20 July.

He alleged that excessive force including tear gas and pellet guns was used against students who were protesting peacefully, resulting in serious injuries to several students and one journalist.
