In the care conversation, employers of domestic workers are key stakeholders. Through the Employersโ Community of Practice (CoP), the Time To Care Project engages employers to champion the rights and needs of domestic workers, with a strong focus on addressing gender-based violence (GBV).
Last week, we held our Employersโ CoP convening in Nakuru. These convenings are participant-led, meaning the employers themselves take charge of the discussions, shaping solutions that work for them and the workers they employ.
The Nakuru CoP has been particularly active, creating meaningful links with the local administration and the Nakuru County Government. Over the past quarter, they have even met with members of the County Assembly to push for stronger support for domestic workers.
Partnering with local administration and government is essential in the care conversation, it paves the way for investment in care infrastructure and ensures domestic workersโ rights remain a policy priority. We are excited by the steps made by the Nakuru CoP and remain curious to see what their unity can achieve.@OxfamKE @OxfamCanada@GAC_Corporate@CDTD_

Plastic pollution chokes rivers, kills livestock, and erodes heritage. It's not just an environmental issue, itโs a gendered injustice. Together, we must #BeatPlasticPollution.
