El Chavismo dilapidó más de 700 millones de dólares en tres satélites lanzados al espacio entre el 2008 y 2017, de los cuales dos de ellos según tenían capacidad entre otras cosas de estudiar la geología de Venezuela para prevenir futuros desastres naturales.

¿Qué pasó?

El primer satélite Simón Bolívar que compró Chávez en 2008 y fue el más caro de todos ($406 millones), se perdió en el espacio en el 2020, quedó como chatarra espacial y es un peligro para el tráfico en el espacio.

El segundo satélite, Francisco de Miranda que aún está en órbita ya venció su ciclo de vida y quedó como un jarrón chino. ($140 millones). Nadie sabe que hizo realmente para justificar su costo, además de tomar fotos que fácilmente se podían tomar con un drone de 50 mil dólares o menos.

El tercer satélite, Antonio José de Sucre que fue lanzado en 2017 y según era lo máximo en tecnología espacial con camaras HD pancromáticas capaces de detectar objetos nítidamente de hasta 1 metro, con luz infrarroja para operar sin descanso incluso de noche, y que le da la de 3 a 4 vueltas a la tierra cada día. ($170 millones). Segun sigue operativo pero nadie sabe que ha hecho de bueno por los Venezolanos. Según hasta podía ver la minería ilegal 24/7 desde el espacio, pero nunca hicieron nada al respecto. Hasta dijeron que podía dar datos para prevención sismológica.

Mientras tanto en FUNVISIS siguen sin poder monitorear bien la falla de Boconó dónde se originó el primer sismo el 24 de junio, porque les falta un sensor GPS de aproximadamente 20 mil dólares que se robaron o lo pusieron en resguardo según ellos.
