People had a very clear idea what they *wanted* this movie to be about and then couldn't handle that it was a story about the absurdity of war photography that specifically chose the American setting because Western society has become so desensitized to War in the Middle East.
remedy never ever gets the praise and attention they deserve and it pisses me off endlessly. this studio, literally with every game they make, are just financially decent enough to stay alive. how is that possible?! look at the shot they make!!! how are they constantly in danger?
@No5mallf3at You’re also depriving a hypothetical human of a happy life by not having procreative sex in the next 2-4 weeks before sperm cell 2,375,019 is reabsorbed and that statistically unique potential human is lost forever. The hypothetical is not the actual
@MinModulation@ergo_praxis I prefer game characters looking like distinct people with unique faces (even if it looks awkward sometimes) over them all looking like the same mass produced anime action figure with different haircuts
@MinModulation@ergo_praxis That’s not to say these are the only two options; afaik Kratos’s 2018 face wasn’t modeled on an actor and he looks great. But it seems easier when they’re starting from a real face
@MinModulation@ergo_praxis I prefer game characters looking like distinct people with unique faces (even if it looks awkward sometimes) over them all looking like the same mass produced anime action figure with different haircuts
@TECleveland @cremieuxrecueil Despite some bogus grants, a lot of government is like this cartoon. I bet this "small team" would find a line item for "screwworm sterilization" and delete it, not knowing that they just devastated American farming: https://t.co/OAnAkxDSEK
@JEdwardTabor@romanhelmetguy Plus there’s tons of disagreement within academia, especially in the humanities. Being a student of history isn’t about finding the perfect text that says the right stuff, but about understanding those disagreements and arguments, what we know for sure vs. what’s still debatable
@JEdwardTabor@romanhelmetguy That’s a good point and you’re right, it’s important to understand the context and motivations of any text, which is what you learn to do in college. A given piece of modern scholarship won’t be perfect, but ostensibly it has academic accuracy as its main goal
@realalpha2000 I think it can be a useful reality check to highlight that the things we think of as human, even on a basic physical level, aren’t present in fetuses that early, and that the person opining on this is less knowledgeable than they let on. But yeah it’s far from a final proof
