@LeeMBroad @CopsAgainst It appears PFEW have done this to say they are going to represent the officers not attached to the PC as well as those in 87 and 2006. You may not like it, but it does make sense.
@LeeMBroad @CopsAgainst This would not force a reset. New Reps would be chosen, they would need to be trained. Can’t see how this would help colleagues in Force. Plus, I assume those who are Reps enjoy the role and wouldn’t want to give it up. We likely all agree that some Reps are busier than others.
@ricojcooke @westmidspolfed I have to say I’m very surprised at this decision. Whilst Boards are generally free to run their elections how they see fit inbetween the triennials, it would make sense to run an election for the rank and file to vote on, choosing your successor based on manifesto.
@JulietBravo41@iofiv@TiredSgt If you were an Inspector then, and had over 25 years service, you should be good. Always check with your pension administrator first 👍
@JulietBravo41@iofiv@TiredSgt No, the normal retirement age for an Inspector was 60, PC & Sgt 55. That’s under the 87 scheme, I’m not sure what happens now. It only affected later starters who wouldn’t get 25 years in by the time they are 55 and so couldn’t retire on the 87 at that point.
@CopsAgainst @rj_mcdonald@Streborski @Jrs70uk @Hendo867 @milkand2@PFEW_HQ It is clear to me. You have had obvious battles and disagreements with PFEW so it stands to reason that you would be more cautious in your views.
@CopsAgainst @rj_mcdonald@Streborski @Jrs70uk @Hendo867 @milkand2@PFEW_HQ I think so. Pretty unambiguous from their recent messages. The Govt have said the same for all public sector workers who are affected.
@Streborski @CopsAgainst @Jrs70uk @rj_mcdonald @Hendo867 @milkand2@PFEW_HQ Theee is a possibility that their protection is removed and they have an end date to their 87 scheme before being enrolled on the 2015 scheme (or its replacement).
@ricojcooke @CopsAgainst @Jigjigjonny@LeighDay_Law@PFEW_HQ No one else in the Pension Challenge is saying this? I haven’t read anywhere that the 87 scheme will be restored. Clarification/evidence would be needed before your claim is believed.
@Streborski@rj_mcdonald @Hendo867 @Jrs70uk @CopsAgainst @milkand2@PFEW_HQ I don’t think this is the case. This isn’t what has been decided or fought for at the ET.
@Jrs70uk @Streborski@rj_mcdonald @Hendo867 @CopsAgainst @milkand2@PFEW_HQ This is correct - at least it is my understanding of it. The Government can change its pensions, but scraps they threw to us have been deemed discriminatory. It has nothing to do with an officer who retired some years back getting more.
@iamalazythinker@westmidspolfed Chair has to come from Board. If there’s more than one nomination, the election must be held and rank and file must vote. Not the Boards decision.
