@Mrs_M_NQT_Yr4 I also give the kids a little questionnaire before report time to personalise it even further. Questions like favourite activity in ‘topic’? Maths skills they now feel most confident with/still want support with? Etc. I let them look through their books to jog their memory.

Ending my morning 8km run here, where I set out thinking I couldn’t get through the first km, got me thinking, teachers are great at modelling sentence structure, but are we modelling the importance of not giving up? Are we sharing stories of our own struggle?
