@tomfroese I might recommend joining @AuthorsGuild - I’m a member and have made use of their legal support. @theaoi could probably also help too if you’re already a member.
@tomfroese @mikepriebe@meandorla@ohn_mar_win The book map is also usually the editor and/or book designer’s job… you should be compensated if you’re taking this work off the publisher’s plate.. are you working with an agent (or someone who can help you charge what you’re worth?)
@tomfroese Sounds like they might be taking advantage of your skills. Most authors don’t have layout skills so the publisher has to hire a designer. If you’re eliminating the need for your publisher to hire a layout designer, your compensation should reflect that.
@MaxRivlinNadler Compromise: the senior housing is redesigned to include a street-facing public park with accessible multigenerational design and seasonal programming that encourage local children to engage and interact with seniors living in the center.
@JillNorman8 @nathanmyhrvold @kenjilopezalt @TheFoodLab @interkatie's Picture Cook is the only cookbook I've come across that includes fully illustrated recipes and completely dispenses with written instructions. The illustrations make the recipes so fun and easy to understand.
@interkatie arranged a wreath of friendly farmers, foods, and foliage to illustrate our mission of securing food and land commons for the next generation of farmers. The shirts are sustainably sourced, ethically produced, and printed to order. 💚

I started a new job this week as a service designer at @CapitalOne✨. In 2016 I did my MA thesis on financial inclusion and banking services, so I’m excited to geek out about improving banking for everyday people. Also excited to re-join the #servicedesign convo on here.
@heoj I visited something like 25 schools in New England. Meandered around the campuses, did tours. I didn't know what I wanted to study, so wasn't looking for a particular department. There was something intangible about the vibe at @wesleyan_u that I liked. Truly followed my gut.
