@JGPatriot20@zakkates@PeterDiamandis@elonmusk On Earth, objects cool through conduction and convection as heat transfers into the surrounding air or fluid. In the vacuum of space, there is no medium to carry heat away, so an object can only cool through thermal radiation, which is a much slower and less efficient process.
@newstart_2024 In will happen just like some believe that characters in that magic television story-box are real people. You can suspend disbelief for your own benefit but there will be no life there - just an empty reflection.
@bryan_johnson It was leaching into the ground water in Australia and has now been banned in many localities - yet we continue to install this in most stadiums and high school fields. Marketed to ignorant school boards for $ savings.
@OwenGregorian There is not enough energy and resources for continued exponential growth in AI. Remember zero population? Peak oil? We will always be constrained by natural limits unless you can prove E=mc2 untrue at a certain point.
@tallmetommy@elonmusk Energy will always be a problem. If energy becomes "infinite" (e.g., solar, wind, fusion), the materials used to harness that energy, such as rare earth metals for batteries and turbines, are still finite. + if infinite energy creates infinite waste - like plastic, its not a win
@morganhousel Not solely because you were a child, because you were innocent in a state of perception:
trust
openness to wonder
closeness to nature
spontaneous joy
intuitive connection to God or the infinite
a world that feels meaningful and benevolent
@PeterZeihan Its a long road out but still possible. Venezuela is rich in natural resources, can again be a top tourist destination. Biggest obstacle is the brain drain over the past 40 years. The only path to viability is investment of the oil companies to kickstart the effort. Buy Chevron.
@donmclean Truly the most underrated voice of the 20th century. Crying, Vincent, American Pie, Tapestry, And I Love You So, have never, and will never be improved by another singer (even Roy Orbison).
@leecronin The probabilistic engine will never be able to see beyond, the human created, pre-published databases it plagarizes. The database is just about maxed out. There is nothing new under the sun for a probablistic engine.
@morganhousel Upstream of housing affordability is the globalization of labor. What 3 industries cannot bring down costs through foreign capital? Health Care, Education, and Housing.
