Ultimately, everything that needs to be said has been said before, but not by you. Not in your way. There's a person out there waiting to see someone like them speak in a way they can relate to. That could be you, but only if you take that first step. Use your voice. Show them.
I’m constantly surprised when start-up founders ask me at what point should they hire their first designer.
My answer is usually some variation of, “if you were designing your own house, when would you hire an architect”?

I consider the behavior similar to a client's: if they understand the value that you provide they're more inclined to give you the resources you're after.
It's easier to talk about smth that feels closer to what you can deliver.
