🇵🇰 “A Coup Dissguised as Emergency": Pakistan suspends Imran Khan's party's provincial government

President Asif Ali Zardari declared a state of emergency on Sunday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a northwestern province bordering Afghanistan and the only one governed by Khan's party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The order removed its chief minister and cabinet, and a federally appointed governor will run the province for an initial six months. Islamabad accuses the provincial government of failing to confront militant attacks.

The move came a week into a PTI march on Islamabad demanding Khan's release. The army was authorized to deploy across the province, and phone and internet service was cut in the provincial capital, Peshawar, and in Swabi, according to local media.

PTI says ousted Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has been detained. A party spokesperson called the move "a coup disguised as emergency."

Today, Asim Munir’s puppet, illegitimate Form-47 federal government, imposed on Pakistan through an unannounced martial law, has effectively suspended the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, the only assembly elected through a genuine public mandate, and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government that holds a majority of more than three-fourths of the MPs.

Provincial Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Speaker of the KP Assembly Babar Saleem Swati, and PTI’s provincial president Junaid Akbar Khan have been abducted. Many PTI MNAs and MPAs were already abducted in the last few weeks.

Asim Munir and the mafia he has imposed on Pakistan continue to hollow out the country’s foundations so that their grip on power remains intact. This illegitimate federal government has no public mandate and exists only through force and manipulation.

Asim Munir, Shehbaz Sharif and Mohsin Naqvi, whose actual duty is to secure the borders and stop terrorism before it happens, are touring the world to manufacture numbers and polish their image, while dumping their core responsibilities of border protection and the elimination of terrorism onto the provincial government.

This dictatorship, like those before it, will end up in the dustbin of history.

The people of Pakistan must now decide: will you keep silently enduring all of this under an illegitimate government, or will you stand up and save Pakistan from complete destruction?

🇵🇰 Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and PTI provincial president Junaid Akbar Khan have been arrested, following a federal takeover of the province.

Emerging reports claim that governor's rule has been imposed and the PTI-led provincial government, which held a two-thirds majority, has been dissolved, with its powers transferred to federal authorities.

The developments follow reports of a security lockdown and communications blackout in Peshawar, alongside allegations that ten PTI lawmakers and ministers were abducted by unidentified armed men.

PTI supporters are now accusing Pakistan's federal leadership of overturning the province's electoral mandate, in what could become a major political confrontation.

Currently, my Aunties are still abducted. Family and lawyers have received no update on how they are, nor why they are incarcerated. Concerning my father, there is complete silence.

My brother and I have had no contact with him for more than six months. We do not even know the true state of his health.

Meanwhile, thousands of Pakistanis are peacefully taking to the streets to protest against his illegal and politically motivated imprisonment.

However, the people of Pakistan have not given up. No barricade, intimidation or repression can muzzle the people’s demand for justice and their democratic right to be heard.
