Also forgot about some of the beautiful moments that occurred during last night's stream (possible thread)... Such as us randomly singing What's Up after our pal Mambo said "I have given up on understanding what's going on with these streams!" XD https://t.co/xlt9jYqAsN
@inkfycreates My thoughts last night were quite literally "Why even remake Legends when they could actually remake the very first Rayman instead?"
Like legit, Legends has a timeless art style so remasters/ports are all it'd need, not this unneeded modernization this is seemingly bringing in.
I hate how we live in an era that people feel so comfortable talking to artists like this. There's criticism and then there's giving such a braindead, awful take that it reaches the character designer. I truly feel for them.
@looloopaa I fully get that too as I remember doing much of the same. I also had a habit of doing ability-less runs of Kirby games after I finished them. Def feel like others running similar challenges got to see how much the devs did and didn't intend us to do with said games.
@Bandygrass If curious what caused the stir, the game in question is Windswept (by WeatherFell) which is a DKC-inspired buddy-platformer. I nabbed the list of assists and as noted, none of these options disable achievements which alongside the review lashout, contributed to the controversy.
Only took a few days but I finished the main game of Windswept. I love a lot of the game esp with the wild spindash tech Checkers the Turtle gets + the difficulty curve felt just right.
Would wholly recommend this to those who like their buddy-platformers like the DKC Trilogy!
@looloopaa@WeatherFell I had to actually check the cheevs for this one and honestly none of them seem rough to get anyway save for difficulty-based ones. Lots of just one-off "Do X" things like rolling through five enemies or petting a critter so the assist argument doesn't even feel warranted imho.
@Actually_Tina You always seem to make the most bog-standard statement about something and then get the most outlandish strangers coming out of the woodworks to argue with you.
I swear you must've gotten a monkey's paw curse in another time and place for this to keep happening to you, Tina.
@Actually_Tina Also tribal/society quests as another daily option. Def helps once you finish the storyline cuz of the modest exp boost afterwards so it def helps bump gather/craft jobs on those in-between levels. Plus iirc, Ixali have the similar turn-ins that GCs have so another boon there.
@inkfycreates Absolutely the worst when games have character creators and then proceed to lock skintone down to presets esp if you get the full spectrum for hair colors. Just give us the FULL RGB/HSV crap so we can go nuts instead of giving us the equivalent of a half-used crayon box.
@inkfycreates It really is so odd how much I've seen people try and act like this never happened, both on the anime & gaming end. I could talk Pokemon with highschool friends but I got strange looks the moment I showed off other games I had like Golden Sun & Dragon Quest.
People forget that reviewers HATED any non-popular JRPGs back in the day. Game reviewers at the time were Xenophobic as hell.
Outside of your latest FF and maybe DQ, anything with an anime aesthetic was ridiculed. It was brutal.
Every version of Shin Megami Tensei 1 offers something different but the PC Engine version really outdid itself with the depiction of the Great Flood by the hand of God himself.
I wish there was a definitive edition that brings all the cool stuff from every version of SMT1!
