Statement on Unauthorized U.S. Military Action Against Iran
We strongly condemn the unauthorized and unprovoked U.S. military attack on Iran. This reckless act, carried out by Donald Trump without Congressional approval and in direct defiance of international calls for diplomacy
I’ve signed my final budget as Governor of California – on time, balanced, and structurally sound. Not just for this year, but through June of 2028.
For the next two years, California will have a $0 deficit.
We’re leaving the state in good hands for the next Governor.
The Constitution barely survived today.
By a 5-4 vote, Trump’s Supreme Court declined to let him rewrite the Constitution and end birthright citizenship.
We’re hanging on by a thread. The fight to defend our democracy is far from over.
The Supreme Court’s 6-3 birthright citizenship ruling affirms no president has the power to override our constitutional rights. Americans born on our soil are here to stay.
But it’s telling that this wasn’t a unanimous decision.
Trump and Stephen Miller are coming for immigrant families and empowering judges who share their sickening prejudice. We need real legislation to stop them.
June is Immigrant Heritage Month, a time to recognize the generations of immigrants whose courage, sacrifice, and contributions have shaped the American story. It is a reminder that our country is strongest when we live up to our values.
My parents came to this country from Korea in search of opportunity and a better future for their children. Like so many immigrant families, they worked hard, made sacrifices, and believed deeply in the promise of the American Dream.
That story is not unique to my family. It is the story of so many families across Orange County and across this country. Immigrants are our neighbors, small business owners, students, service members, caregivers, and community leaders. Now more than ever, we must be clear: immigrants are not a threat to this country.
I’m proud to celebrate the immigrant communities that make Orange County such a vibrant place to call home, and to keep fighting for a country that honors their dignity, contributions, and dreams.
While Americans are losing healthcare, Trump is building a $600 million White House ballroom with taxpayer dollars and planning UFC fights for his birthday.
The corruption is gross and staggering, and we will hold every one of them accountable.
I’ve heard from dozens of Iranian students and researchers who complied with every immigration requirement and whose lives have been thrown into limbo by the Trump Administration's deportation chaos.
I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to support my bill, the Iranian Temporary Immigration Relief Act.
California is honored by the immigrant communities who have chosen to pursue and strengthen the California Dream.
This Immigrant Heritage Month, we celebrate the power of immigrants and reaffirm our commitment to fight for a fair and inclusive society.
Republicans just rejected our measure to permanently block Donald Trump’s $1.8 billion slush fund for insurrectionist cop-beaters. It’s horrifying.
Every single Republican is now on record protecting this egregious corruption scheme. We cannot trust Todd Blanche, Donald Trump’s personal attorney, when he says the fund is “dead.” We must assert Congressional oversight and rein in this out-of control administration.
I just voted no on H.R. 1329, which I actually cosponsored. Republicans turned a bipartisan bill to create a new women’s history museum into a partisan tribute to Trump.
A museum dedicated to preserving and celebrating women’s history should never be turned into another Trump self-enrichment scheme.
Reporter: The DOJ has this new fund — $1.7 billion. Why should taxpayers pay for the January 6ers?
Trump: Because in my world, loyalty outranks law. They broke the rules for me, so you pay the bill for them. That’s the transaction.
If it looks like insider trading, quacks like insider trading, and somehow racks up 3,600 stock trades tied to the President while working Americans get crushed by rising costs…
No one is above the law, and no one should be using the government to enrich themselves.
We are devastated and horrified by this act of terror targeting our Muslim community in San Diego.
Hate has no place in our state, and we stand with our worshippers, families, and all who are impacted by this attack.
$1 BILLION.
This could be used to fund healthcare, childcare—so many real things. But instead, you're paying for Donald Trump's ballroom. YOUR tax dollars are paying for Trump's ballroom.
@tparsi So sad that this much creativity is being used to create propoganda content for a MURDEROUS regime. For many of us who are ANTI WAR & ANTI ISLAMIC REPUBLIC & ANTI TRUMP.... watching the Islamic Republic getting glorified because of incompetence of Trump is really painful.
Add the ballroom to the laundry list of things Trump said someone else would pay for. Ultimately, of course, it’s always the American people footing the bill for his outrageous pet projects.
A $1BN price tag while he rips away your healthcare. Sickening.
Pete Hegseth showed the American people this week that he’s unfit to serve. There’s a reason I’ve introduced Articles of Impeachment against him and I urge my colleagues to join our effort.
This is yet another attack on reproductive care access. Access to mifepristone is particularly critical for women in rural and underserved communities where healthcare access is limited.
California will continue to fight like hell against those who seek to reach across our border to try to tear away a woman’s right to choose. Period — full stop.
BREAKING: A federal appeals court has blocked mailing prescriptions to mifepristone, restricting access to one of the most common means of abortion. https://t.co/NbIBTAT0UE
