How long am I supposed to wait? How many more people have to die? How many more terrorist attacks have to take place? How much more evidence do I need before recognizing a growing threat for what it is?
If a regime openly seeks nuclear weapons, develops longer-range missiles, sponsors terrorism, and repeatedly threatens America and its allies, at what point do I stop pretending the danger isn't real?
I keep hearing that we should wait, negotiate longer, and hope for the best. But what happens if we're wrong? What happens if one day they possess the capability to threaten the United States directly?
These are the questions I ask myself. Not because I want conflict, but because I understand the consequences of ignoring a threat until it's too late.

I don't blame the President for taking a few days to think about this -- that is, the initial deal with the Iranian regime his negotiators brought to him.
I understand why the Iranian regime agreed to this: according to reports, "in return for the commitments to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and forswear nuclear weapons development, the U.S. would release frozen Iranian funds and open discussions about sanctions relief, as well as enter discussions on a mechanism to permit Iran to receive humanitarian aid and other needed goods."
So, frozen funds are immediately released (that's billions of dollars), sanctions relief are on the horizon, as is "humanitarian" aid (to a regime that slaughters its own people). That's a huge infusion of billions into Iran, in addition to the regime returning to shipping oil, all of which will fund the IRGC and the rest of the police state -- and you can be sure that's where most of the money will go. And no word about ballistic missiles, which is absolutely crucial, and nothing about the brutality against the people.
There needs to be a lot more details to understand exactly what has been negotiated here to warrant a massive infusion of funds back into the regime in exchange for talking another 60 days. They won't pursue nukes in the meantime? I thought we would hit them militarily if they were. And they'll reopen the Strait, so the regime closing it was leveraged by them to get us to the negotiation table?
We are removing the economic and military pressure with only the threat that either or both could resume. Why not force concessions before lifting economic pressure? If they wouldn't agree then how serious is the regime about making substantive and lasting concessions?
I don't blame the President for taking a few days to think about this, if this report is accurate. And enforcement, given the nature and history of this terrorist regime, whatever the final terms may be, will be impossible (certainly after the Trump presidency).

I am deeply concerned about what we are hearing about an Iran “deal,” being pushed by some voices in the administration.
President Trump’s decision to strike Iran was the most consequential decision of his second term. He was right to do so, and we achieved extraordinary military results—including destroying all of their missiles & drones and sinking their entire navy.
If the result of all that is to be an Iranian regime—still run by Islamists who chant “death to America”—now receiving billions of dollars, being able to enrich uranium & develop nuclear weapons, and having effective control over the Strait of Hormuz, then that outcome would be a disastrous mistake.
The details are still coming out—and I pray the early reports are wrong—but the fact that Biden’s Rob Malley is praising the deal is not encouraging.
President Trump believes in peace through strength, and his strong leadership has already made America much safer. He should continue to hold the line, defend America & enforce the red lines he has repeatedly drawn.
I’ve supported Trump from the first day of his 2016 campaign.
Any deal with Iran’s terrorist regime ends that support forever and would be the greatest betrayal in American history.
Honour your promises, or go down worse than Carter and Obama combined. (@realDonaldTrump)
Dear Mr. @realDonaldTrump
The regime in Iran is lying to you and your negotiators (period, stop!). Do not believe a word they say. I know you want to get out of this mess. All Americans want this unnecessary war to end. Keep in mind, as you have been told many times, Iran is still the leading state sponsor of terrorism (all anyone needs to say is Hezbollah, Hamas & Houthis, never mind IRGC-QF). None of these organizations are going away with this deal.
How about getting them to first publicly apologize for killing American Soldiers and U.S. Marines many times over (especially on this Memorial Day weekend). Yes, we are all sick of it.
And yes, the people of Iran must step up, but we need to signal to them, we will not concede their freedoms to the insane regime in Teheran. They deserve better. If we don’t, we will cause an entire population to be enslaved. For this, we have to smartly use our Middle East partners to support them along with our covert and clandestine operators. Trust me, if you support, this is very doable.
Anyway, I’m watching everything (like most of the world is) and admittedly I do not have all the information. But if we pay tribute to the regime to the tune of $25B, I’m concerned they’ll use it for nefarious purposes down the road.
No nukes in Iran may be a noble idea (an end goal for your administration) but the regime has blatantly lied to our faces before, why do you now believe they will tell you the truth?
Give it some thought. Get some out of the box solutions, and rethink your position. The art of the deal tells you to do that from time to time.
Now may be that time.
