My entire life changed when I realized that anything above zero compounds. That showing up consistently matters more than showing up perfectly. That small things become big things. Never allow optimal to get in the way of beneficial.
Everything you want is on the other side of taking a shot, asking again, and not giving a fuck about what other people think until you get what you want.
You just have to fucking try.
Met a guy with $2M invested.
Still lives in a $1,800 apartment.
Drives a 12 year old Honda.
Flies economy.
Never upgrades his lifestyle.
I asked him WHY?
He said: I’d rather own my time than impress strangers.
Looking rich is expensive. Being free is priceless.
Your entire life will change when you realize energy is the most attractive human trait. Not looks, wealth, or status. Energy. Start walking into rooms with genuine enthusiasm, curiosity, and interest. Watch what happens. You become a magnet for the highest quality people. Energy is contagious. Spread the kind you’d want to catch.
In my early days, I had to numb myself. There was so much work. The amount of work you can only measure by how much it weighs. And if I stopped to think about how “unfinishable” the amount of work I had to do was, I would’ve quit.
So I did the only thing I could do, I’d take the first thing off the stack and start…without thinking about how shitty & alone I felt. And how everyone I knew was enjoying their life in their perfect bubble of security following the path someone else put in front of them.
There’s a reason race horses wear blinders. Focus only on what’s in front of you.
You’ll get through it. Keep going.
"I wasted time." "I made a wrong decision." "I married the wrong person." "I picked the wrong job." "I moved to the wrong city."
How about not believing that? How about believing it was just part of your fucking story? You think any book that's interesting doesn't have the chapters where there's adversity, where there's conflict?
Everybody's obsessed with like, "I wasted time." Everyone's wasted time always, forever and ever. I think the reverse. I have things that are obviously a waste of time, but I look at it as like, "I'm glad I did that shit."
I went through the process. I'm living fucking life. I'm a fucking human being. I'm living. I'm learning. It's life.
You think anybody goes to heaven and played it 100% correct?
AB - mad respect for the question! - The only way to escape the current reality is Work. - you have to start from ground zero like you’ve never accomplished anything & “fully” lean into the nothing and build. Short term targets for long term goals. No drugs, alcohol, women, no short cuts, no gimmicks - pure Work! I’ve done this 5 times in my life to discover a new version of myself. It’s painful, but it’s worth it.
