A 🧵 on the future of web3 education
@andyypants@sujjdujj@SBF_FTX You speak from a place of privilege without realizing that many who use crypto live in authoritative regimes where crypto is banned & stolen from their wallets by their own gov.
Not to mention when often their accounts are suddenly frozen because they dont meet KYC requirements…
@andyypants@JesseWalkerWhi1@SBF_FTX Truth is that time when people used crypto for money laundering is long gone.. now that gov knows all block data is public no one is really doing it.
If all these excessive regulations imposed on fiat never solved the issue, what makes you think it’d be different with crypto?
@andyypants@JesseWalkerWhi1@SBF_FTX As of 2019 only $829m worth of Bitcoin has been spent on money laundering, a mere 0.5% of all Bitcoin transactions.
Compare this to the traditional financial system, where criminals laundered annually sits between 2 percent and 5 percent of global GDP, or $1.6tn to $4 tn a year!
@RyoshiLife @GalloNegro415 @investvoyager Do we have to file a claim to recover at least a bit of our funds?
If we don’t file a claim does it mean we are fine with not getting our assets back?
