Earth is just one of about 100 billion planets in our galaxy, which is just one of about two trillion galaxies in the universe. And our lifetimes are only about 1/3,000 of humanity's existence, which itself is only 1/20,000 of the Earth's existence.
In other words, we are unbelievably tiny and short-lived and no matter what we accomplish, our impact will be insignificant.
At the same time, we instinctually want to matter and to evolve, and we can matter a tiny bit--and it's all those tiny bits that add up to drive the evolution of the universe. #principleoftheday
Knowing your nature is critically important to understanding what success is for you.
I can't tell you literally what is best for you, but I can tell you that success is not having a lot more money or status than you need. Having the time and freedom to do what you most want to do is far more important.
What is success for most people? It is a matter of having meaningful work and meaningful relationships. If you can make your work and your passion one and the same, and do it with people who you care about and care about you, you will have a happy, successful life.

Mark Cuban says AI will split every company into 2 categories within 3 years
"When it's all said and done over the next 3 years, there's going to be two types of companies. Those who are great at AI and those who went out of business"
"The biggest challenge for a company is going to be for the CEO to make that decision that we're going to have to blow up a lot of what we do to recreate our company"
"We hear a lot of stories about huge public companies that spend a lot of money to try to implement AI and it doesn't really get them a return on investment."
"Because you already are running your business the way you've always run it."
"The things you've considered outsourcing, your customer call centers, AI agents are perfect for. The stuff you would give to an intern, AI agents are perfect for"
"But to really take advantage of AI you have to reformulate your business completely to build it on AI"
No
This evolutionary cycle is not just for people but for countries, companies, economies—for everything. And it is naturally self-correcting as a whole, though not necessarily for its parts. For example, if there is too much supply and waste in a market, prices will go down, companies will go out of business, and capacity will be reduced until the supply falls in line with the demand, at which time the cycle will start to move in the opposite direction. Similarly, if an economy turns bad enough, those responsible for running it will make the political and policy changes that are needed—or they will not survive, making room for their replacements to come along. These cycles are continuous and play out in logical ways—and they tend to be self-reinforcing.
Every entrepreneur that knows how to use AI is trying to find ways to build AI native companies that completely displace incumbents.
For the incumbents, it’s the “Innovator’s AI Dilemma” If those startups get traction, and they can’t buy them, the CEOs will face multiple huge Dilemmas:
1. Do they tear down their companies and reinvent them as native AI ?
2. How do they explain it to public shareholders ?
You will know AI is having a huge impact on public companies when there are two types of lawsuits:
- Shareholders that sue the company for tearing down the company and crushing the stock price
- Shareholders that sue the company for NOT tearing down the company and crushing the stock price
I think most CEOs don’t come close to understanding AI in enough detail to even begin to consider these decisions.
Hint: Asking your AI models the best paths from where you are now, to being an AI native version that can achieve the same economics has to be one of your initial steps.
If asking your models questions doesn’t make sense to you, you are in deep shit
