When 33 Deputy Secretary rank officers from the @LokSabhaSectt walked into ISB, they brought with them a world of experience and insights from the heart of Indian democracy.
During the visit facilitated by @drmcrhrdit as part of their training, we had the opportunity to share about ISB, its programmes, research, and capacity building initiatives. Conversations flowed around how academia can play a deeper role in supporting the legislative and governance ecosystem.
Such interactions are a reminder of how academia and governance can come together to create meaningful impact.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Professor M Rammohan Rao, former Dean of ISB (2004–2009), who departed earlier today.
Professor Rao was a leader who helped establish ISB as a world-class institution. Under his guidance, the School made strides, especially in building a research foundation. He believed that a business school must be a hub for knowledge creation, not just dissemination. This belief continues to guide ISB's academic mission.
His distinguished career included serving as Director of IIM Bangalore, tenured Professor at NYU’s Stern School of Business, and holding numerous leadership roles, including President of the Association of Indian Management Schools. Among his many honours, he received the prestigious Fulkerson Prize in 2000. He was also the first Dean of an Indian business school appointed to the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).
A respected scholar in operations research and management science, Professor Rao exemplified the highest standards of academic leadership and institutional governance. His influence extended beyond ISB, contributing significantly to the broader landscape of management education in India.
Those who worked with Professor Rao remember his academic values and his commitment to nurturing talent. He continued to share his knowledge and guide students until the very end. His legacy lives on in the countless students, faculty, and institutions he helped shape throughout his career.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. The ISB community will forever remain grateful for his contributions.
We hosted 5 young IAS officers from the 2024 batch, Telangana Cadre, at ISB. Their visit was part of the District Training Programme facilitated by MCRHRDI.
We had a great conversation about ISB programmes, research, and the many ways we can engage with the government. Also shared how ISB supports capacity building for civil servants at various levels.

What happens when curious minds step into the world of @ISBedu?
In April, students from three institutions walked through our campus gates, wide-eyed, eager, and full of questions. They sat in our classrooms, explored the lush greens and buzzing corridors, and got a real feel of life at ISB.
For many, it was their first time experiencing a campus like this. For us, it was a chance to spark ambition and fuel dreams.
This is what 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗜𝗦𝗕 is all about.
An initiative by the Office of External Relations, the programme is designed to inspire and engage young minds by giving them a firsthand experience of ISB’s world-class learning environment, cutting-edge facilities, and apprise them about its programmes, research and achievements.
