asking good questions requires you to have 2 things:
1) a rather large amount of context about something
2) curiosity/creativity to approach the context from a unique angle
if a receiver thinks both steps have been fulfilled they are likely to gauge this as a good question
separately, context accumulation takes time and is a largely linear process.
unless there is a way to make that relationship exponential, people are essentially impressed by how you have decided to spend your time
i wonder if any investor has ever studied businesses enough to have EV/specific operator actions ratios
if operators actions drive metrics, maybe it makes sense to do EV/operator actions in addition to EV/metrics
i think this gets convoluted in the agentic era but there might still be some truth in going one layer deeper
might be a hot take but i think of any player who has played 3+ seasons, @ErlingHaaland will retire with the best touches/goal ratio in the history of the game
if majority of discontent comes from gap between reality and potential, finding out roughly what your counterpart believes to be their potential/ceiling would be a good datapoint
getting them a perceived pathway to that end destination could do wonders in getting them aligned with your objectives
