What is this obsession with coding and productivity. What if the poor guy next to you was an artist, a film maker, a cinematographer. World doesn’t revolve around Claude.
AI for biology is a lot harder than most pure tech people think.
There are many bottlenecks, and high-quality data is the biggest one.
If you actually wanna move the needle on AI/bio, then we need the following:
- A major global project to expand high-quality biological data.
- More foundation models for biology at the AlphaFold calibre.
- A breakthrough in graph neural networks, as significant as transformers were for NLP.
- New AI architectures that are first principles designed to natively work on bio problems.
- A more intellectually honest and balanced research/business culture than the current hype game.
- A major effort to identify, isolate, and exclude scientifically fraudulent papers and data points in biology.
- Policy changes for more funding, cheaper electricity, targeted deregulation around the bioeconomy and use of anonymised data etc. - could be useful too.
India doesn't need to lead the world in building the most advanced AI models. But it must lead in ensuring benefits of AI are widely shared.

Don’t pity the ones who failed in pursuit of their success, pity the ones who never tried - for they never tasted the sweet sweet despair of murky depths from which all that shines comes about.
I don’t really understand the maths it takes to send humans behind the Moon and bring them back safely. And the more I sit with that, the more it genuinely messes with my head even tho my love for physics and my knowledge of physics is astounding to a point
Somebody had to work out a path where the Moon’s gravity is pulling you in, the Earth is pulling you back, and you’re moving just fast enough and not slow enough not to get trapped by either. They had to figure out the exact angle to come back into Earth’s atmosphere too. Too steep, you burn up. Too shallow, you bounce off and drift into space. And they had to get all of that right at the same time, for real people sitting in a small metal capsule about 400k kilometres away from home.
Nothing in that system is standing still.
The Moon is moving.
The Earth is moving.
Even the Sun is pulling on everything. And still, some people looked at all of that motion, all of that chaos, and turned it into numbers you can follow. Go here.

There’s also that moment in the journey where the crew passes behind the Moon. No contact with Earth. No signal. Just silence, with a massive rock blocking everything they’ve ever known. The only reason they can stay calm in that moment is because someone, somewhere, did the maths and proved they’ll come out the other side.
I don’t know what it feels like to trust something that much. To put your life in an equation when you’re that far away from everything.
But I do know this for sure, whatever that level of thinking is, whatever it takes to reach it, it might be one of the most extraordinary things human beings have ever done...
Give up for a few days, let it go. Cover your bedroom with sheets so no light comes in; darkness, darkness. And when you are in deepest of pits, your passion for the thing you gave all in win save you. If you have to try to try, you ain’t got it. As Bukowski said, Don’t Try.
Ask yourself - Is the business you are building will be primarily become human driven or token driven? While both may be needed, what will it be driven by? 🙃
Thesis: the problem with AI working in every domain = all the edge cases. Antithesis: domains with lots of edge cases = difficult & time consuming to practically impossible for error-prone people. Synthesis: such domains = where AI agents will do best. (Such as SAAS migration…)
