On question of why our cadres didn't participate openly yestarday. We noticed tactical mistakes on part of CJP; broadcasting their location, travel plans & assembly points. It's like they wanted to get detained. We did NOT want our cadres to be part of this poorly planned event & be detained in bulk. Saying that we support the demand of opposition parties & CJP in greater transparency by ECI. We also had several companies of Bhimsainiks held in reserve, but did not commit them b/c the grounds never came.

last 2 days, Delhi has been made into a fortress.

Journalists, lawyers, activists, minors, non protesters, no one is safe-- police isnt even pretending to keep any rational/fair process.

The levity/humor of July protests is gone. In its place is a cold realization tht we are entering a dark space-- political actors, civil society & citizenry have been shown that their rights & liberties wont be respected.

The protest site wont be a playground. This will be a long seige of attrition, patience & civic determination.

Prashant Bhushan is a certified casteist.He stood in front row with right wing Anna Hazare to delegitimise UPA. Bhushan had not only filed a case against Dalit Prerana Sthal but also filed case against lone Dalit judge in Delhi high court Justice Suresh Kait. Bhushan also in an interview said, “It is not necessary to have Dalit Jugde, I’m not particularly in favour of reservations in the higher judiciary”

Merit, Dalit Prof's foot!! Prof. Kateriya's research helped German scientists to win Nobel this year in the category of Medicine.

Prof. Kateriya should be awarded Bharat Ratna this year!!

JNU Prof Suneel Kateriya's(School of Biotechnology) research helped pave way for the Nobel-winning discovery in medicine this year. German scientists Peter Hegemann and Georg Nagel's discoveries concerning light-gated ion channels and optogenetics won the Nobel.

Prof Kateriya identified two previously unknown DNA sequences in the alga. The genes encoded light-sensitive proteins that would later become known as channelrhodopsins These proteins eventually became a key component of optogenetics.

His research was subsequently developed through collaborations involving Georg Nagel, who demonstrated that the proteins acted like microscopic gates. When exposed to blue light, the channels opened and allowed charged particles to flow into cells, producing an electrical signal.

दलित-वंचित समुदाय के ज्यादातर ऐसे मामलों में देखा है, 'गोदी' और कथित वैकल्पिक मीडिया के (ज्यादातर संस्थानों, मंचों या संचालकों) बीच गजब की 'एका' हो जाती है! सारा फ़र्क मिट जाता है! ये मीडियाकार IIT Bombay के दलित छात्र की आत्महत्या के मामले में किसी शासकीय या स्वतंत्र जांच-पड़ताल का भी इंतजार नहीं करना चाहते! वे सिर्फ ये चाहते हैं कि 'इतिहास में ये बात हमेशा के लिए दर्ज हो जाय कि IIT के 22 वर्षीय छात्र साहिल की आत्महत्या के लिए वह स्वयं जिम्मेदार है! जैसे दर्शन सोलंकी, पायल तडवी और रोहित वेमुला सहित ऐसे अनेक छात्र अपनी आत्महत्या के लिए स्वयं जिम्मेदार थे! दूसरा कोई भी जिम्मेदार नहीं! इसमें जाति या जाति-भेदभाव जैसा कोई मामला ही नहीं है! भारत के शिक्षण संस्थानों या किसी भी प्रोफेशनल संस्थान में ऐसा भेदभाव कहीं नहीं होता!'
इसी जिद में ये मीडियाकार अपने कार्यक्रमों या लेखों आदि के जरिये बताने और साबित करने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं कि 'संस्थान के संचालकों की कार्य-संस्कृति या वहां के माहौल की उक्त घटना में कोई भूमिका नहीं है! किसी अधिकारी या शिक्षक की कोई भूमिका नहीं है! पुलिस पडताल से पहले ही हमारे मीडिया ने पडताल करके साबित कर दिया है कि उक्त छात्र मिड-सेमेस्टर परीक्षा में अपने मोबाइल फोन के जरिये 'चिटिंग' की कोशिश कर रहा था और पकड़ा गया!' चलिये थोड़ी देर के लिए मीडियाकारों की इस खोजी-पड़ताल को हम सही मान लेते हैं! पर इस कथित घटना के बाद संस्थान ने छात्रावास पहुंचे साहिल के साथ क्या किया? उसकी मानसिक स्थिति समझने या उसे समझाने-बुझाने(कौंसेलिंग) की कोई कोशिश हुई? इस बारे में IITs और अन्य व्यावसायिक शिक्षण संस्थानों को पहले से ही शासकीय स्तर पर ठोस हिदायतें हैं. इसके लिए समय-समय पर विशेषज्ञ समितियां बनती रहती हैं! उनकी सिफारिशें इन संस्थानों को भेजी जाती हैं. क्या उन्हें फाॅलो किया गया? मीडिया और उसके मीडियाकार इन पहलुओं पर बिल्कुल खामोश हैं. वे सिर्फ यही साबित करने में जुटे हैं कि IIT Bombay, उसके निदेशक या साहिल को कथित तौर पर परीक्षा में मोबाइल चलाते पकडने वाले प्रो डूला, ऐसे सारे लोग सौ फीसदी निर्दोष हैं! आत्महत्या करने वाला छात्र ही असल गुनहगार हैं! संस्थान और उसका कोई अधिकारी या प्रोफेसर बिल्कुल जिम्मेदार नहीं!
