Unironically yes, Americans need to travel more. Americans are extraordinarily provincial and unaware of the world around them and of other cultures, and are incredibly arrogant about the superiority of their own country. There need to be more programs getting Americans to study in Eastern Europe, Russia, China, Japan, South Korea etc

When people try to work harder and still get nowhere, it's usually because they prioritize intensity and forget about asymmetry. Each one of your outcomes must measurably advance your position. If it doesn't, then it's not worth working on. You need to be ruthlessly efficient if you want to make it.
