I PLACED TOP 5 at the sydney @MistralAI hackathon!
over the weekend 150+ hackers competed in sydney to build using Mistral's tech, and the top 5 teams got to present on stage. i was the only solo hacker in the top 5, which still feels surreal.
i built Reflex, it uses Ministral to monitor your customer communication channels (like Discord) for feature requests and bug reports, then uses Mistral Vibe to make the code changes, opens a pull request, notifies your team on Telegram, and follows up with the user once the issue has been resolved.
this was also my first hackathon in two years. it's wild how differently i work now compared to back then, AI coding tools have genuinely changed the way i build.
big thanks to @UNSWFounders and @HackIterate for putting it together, and to everyone who came along and made it such a good weekend.
Reflex is live if you want to try it out, i'll put the link in the comments.
we applied to @fdotinc off season II and got rejected.
we did land an interview though, a first for us across any program we've applied to so far. biggest takeaway for us is that we need to communicate what we're building way better.
we're gonna keep pushing though, because we truly believe in what we're building.
thank you @ruslanjabari for the opportunity :)
@nhagianis@michellewang857 im not gonna look back in my 30s and think "man i should have gone to more parties". i would argue the opposite in that you don't want to regret in your 30s what you could have accomplished if u locked in earlier. life is too short.
@catboosted my problem with the interview clip wasn't the 7 days a week but the 3-4 hours of sleep. i don't think u can do any meaningful work on consistent low sleep. even elon gets 6 hours.
We are launching Funky today!
The frontier model isn't supposed to do everything. We should let it fan out 100 cheap, fast sub-agents to do the repetitive/tedious work.
Funky is a service that let you spin up hundreds of sub-agents in a second.
