Glad to see dialogue replacing confrontation. Dissent deserves dialogue. This is democracy in action.

Pellet guns, electric shock batons and nail-studded lathis have no place in the land of Bapu.

Equally, attacks on security personnel and public property must be examined fairly. Accountability cannot be selective.

This moment and oppurtunity is bigger than paper leaks. I urge a National Commission on Education and Examination Reform, with a three-month roadmap to restore trust in examinations, reduce academic stress and modernise education, one that also hears Tamil Nadu's voice, where young Anitha's death first showed the human cost of a single high-stakes test.

The Government's willingness to engage is welcome. Now let us ensure that dialogue leads to lasting reform. The road ahead is long, but Indians must walk it together.

We should have listened when one child cried.

Instead, we waited until far too many of our children died.

A system where coaching replaces learning, anxiety replaces curiosity, and criminality replaces merit is rotten.

Precious minerals are not more precious than human lives or our environment. The extraction of any mineral, however valuable, must rest on two non-negotiables: informed consent of local communities and rigorous scientific assessment of its environmental and public health impacts. Without these, development loses its legitimacy.

I stand with the people of Kanyakumari in seeking a re-examination of the IREL project and the Government Order extending its land allocation. A one-year extension on paper can leave generations with irreversible health consequences. Tamil Nadu's coasts are living ecosystems, not just mineral deposits. Listen to the people. Protect our shores.

சுற்றுச்சூழலைவிட, மனித உயிர்களைவிட எந்த ஒரு கனிமமும் தாதுக்களும் மதிப்புக் கூடியதல்ல. எந்தத் திட்டத்தைச் செயல்படுத்துவதென்றாலும் அது இரண்டு முக்கியமான நிபந்தனைகளுக்கு உட்பட்டதாக இருக்க வேண்டும். ஒன்று, அப்பகுதியில் வாழும் மக்களின் அனைத்து ஐயங்களும் தீர்க்கப்பட்டு, பெறப்படும் முழுமையான சம்மதம். மற்றொன்று அந்தத் திட்டம் சுற்றுச்சுழலிலும் பொது சுகாதாரத்திலும் ஏற்படுத்தப்போகும் தாக்கங்கள் குறித்த அறிவியல்பூர்வமான துல்லியமான ஆய்வு. இவை இரண்டும் இல்லையென்றால் அந்தத் திட்டம் தனது தார்மீக உரிமையை இழந்துவிடும்.

மணவாளக்குறிச்சி அருகே அணுக்கனிமச் சுரங்கம் அமைக்கும் ஐ.ஆர்.இ.எல் (IREL) திட்டத்தையும், அதன் நில ஒதுக்கீட்டை நீட்டித்துப் பிறப்பிக்கப்பட்ட அரசாணையையும் தமிழ்நாடு அரசு மறுபரிசீலனை செய்ய வேண்டும். கன்னியாகுமரி மக்களின் குரலுக்கு அரசு செவிசாய்க்க வேண்டும்.

காகிதத்தில் கொடுக்கப்படும் ஒரு வருட கால நீட்டிப்பு, வரவிருக்கும் தலைமுறையினருக்கு மீட்டெடுக்க முடியாத பாதிப்புகளை ஏற்படுத்திவிடக் கூடும். தமிழ்நாட்டின் கடற்கரைகள் வெறும் தாதுக்கள் நிறைந்த பகுதிகள் மட்டுமல்ல, அவை உயிரோட்டமுள்ள சுற்றுச்சூழல் அரண்கள்.

மக்களின் குரலுக்குச் செவி கொடுங்கள். நம் கடற்கரைகளைப் பாதுகாத்திடுங்கள்.

உடல் நலக்குறைவால் மரணித்த நண்பர் கே. பாக்யராஜ் தனது கண்களை தானம் செய்ததன் மூலம் பிறிதொரு உயிருக்குப் பார்வையளித்துச் சென்றிருக்கிறார். அவர் மாபெரும் ஆளுமை மட்டுமல்ல மகத்தான மானுடநேயரும் கூட. அவர் என் தோழர் என்பதில் பெருமிதம் அடைகிறேன்.
