The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), under the direction of the TVK Govt, had filed an FIR & conducted a raid yesterday at the residence and other premises associated with former DMK Minister Thiru E.V. Velu avl in connection with alleged irregularities in the execution of road contracts awarded in 2022.
I welcome the TVK Govt's efforts to investigate allegations of corruption from the previous DMK regime. I sincerely hope that the TVK Govt ensures a swift conclusion to these cases, and that anyone found guilty is held accountable in accordance with the law.
While we are on this subject, I urge the TVK Govt to look into the following scams that were exposed over the past 5 years, order an enquiry, and take action accordingly. Naming a few to begin with.
1.BGR Energy Scam – Flouting rules, re-awarding a contract, and later cancelling it after being exposed.
2.Nutrition Kit Scam – Procurement of Health Mix from private vendors at an inflated price despite Aavin coming forward to manufacture it.
3.Pongal Dhoti Scam – Use of excess polyester instead of cotton, and proofs of which were submitted to DVAC.
4.Multiple scams in the State Transport Department – Procurement of Reflective & Rear Marking Plates and much more.
5.TNMSC Scam – Procurement of Pesticides
6.MGNREGA Scam
We also hope the TVK Govt finds the time to solve a long-pending mystery. For years, we have been asking about the rather curious coincidence of Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin avl's fan club and Noble Steels operating from the very same address, and about Noble Steels' announcement of a ₹1,000 crore investment in Tamil Nadu soon after former Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin's visit to Dubai (that investment remains an announcement, is a topic for another day).

DMK Joker Ecosystem
It is a known fact that the DMK Government was corrupt to the core. When you mention this, the ecosystem wants proof. Proofs are to be provided by the law & order entities. An individual who is part of a specific slice of life knows by direct experience how much was demanded and how much was paid, or not paid.
I am a Tamil book publisher for the last 22 years. We have not paid any bribe (under any Govt - AIADMK or DMK). We do not care about library order. We apply for all our books and routinely get some order. I have no complaints. At the same time, I see people in the system pay a hefty bribe and get a very large order and fulfill the same order by just printing Ponniyin Selvan again and again! Ask any library user and they will tell you how bad the procurement system is.
The school education system under DMK was horribly corrupt. It required a solid sum of money as bribe for getting recognition (certificate of recognition). A relatively smaller amount for upgradation (from 8th to 10th, from 10th to 12th) as well as renewal of recognition which happens every three years.
Sridhar Vembu @svembu wrote that his own school which offers free education was asked a bribe during DMK but the approval came through under TVK without any such demand. Some wrote back saying the school was already running, and why it needed approval now. They have no clue how schools function.
You have to build a school (physical infrastructure) by first getting permission. Then you need to get Certificate of Recognition from the School Education Department. This recognition is for a period usually of three years. Then this will be renewed every three years.
A school may run without recognition but will have to send its students through another recognized school for appearing in 10th & 12th public exams.
One can run a 'school like' structure, train students and make them appear for 10th/12th under NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) which is a central government entity.
Many would prefer either a state government recognition or CBSE recognition. In case of CBSE recognition, one needs to get state school education ministry's No Objection Certificate (NOC). This also required a hefty bribe under DMK.
So three DMK bribe collection points were as follows:
1. Giving recognition to a state board school (first time)
2. Renewing recognition every three years
3. You want to escape the clutches of this bribe system by moving to CBSE - then a one-time bribe demand for NOC
Learn from your friends who are running private schools, both Samacheer and CBSE and they will tell you how the system works.
Both AIADMK and DMK are guilty of this.
The TVK Govt. has changed this completely. At least as of now. I hope their transparent honest system will continue for the rest of their term.
We had nauseating, disgusting levels of corruption in Tamil Nadu under the DMK. This is known to the entire Universe, not some grand secret.
It reached such Himalayan heights, their own Finance Minister, someone not corrupt who was caught up with the corrupt crowd, was complaining about it (sadly for him his remarks became public and he was demoted to became the IT Minister).
This is not about ideology.
Even the Marxists of Kerala, then allied with the DMK, would say how deeply corrupt the DMK was.
I have always appreciated people like Shri Balagopal, the former Finance Minister of Kerala, for his devoted public service. I am sure he and I will not agree on political philosophy or ideology but I deeply respect him.
If the DMK truly wants to introspect, they must start with their corruption.
Instead, they spend their time attacking a messenger like me as a TVK stooge or a Brahmin or a Sanghi and so on.
May be they can study Kural 423: focus on the message, even if the message comes from a "Brahmin Sanghi TVK stooge" like me:
எப்பொருள் யார்யார்வாய்க் கேட்பினும் அப்பொருள்
மெய்ப்பொருள் காண்ப தறிவு.
DMK collected illegal bribe money in every department. They made a killing through party fund and enriched themselves. AIADMK did the same and would have never talked about corruption in the assembly.
That is where the advent of TVK makes all the difference. That is why DMK is rattled. Party Fund is described in detail in the KN Nehru scam by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Two separate cases, soon to be two separate FIRs, and we will see in detail how the Party Fund worked, how corruption was systematised.
Next steps: TVK should activate DVAC to go after every dept corruption, in liquor procurement, in school education, in higher education, in PWD tender setting, in the electricity dept, in HR&CE, CMDA and so on.
Today, I had the opportunity to meet Thalaivar Annamalai at his residence.
There is something I must say from the heart. Annamalai Anna played a pivotal role in shaping the person I am today. He believed in me, moulded me, stood by me, and supported me through some of the most challenging phases at the beginning of my political journey.
His guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support gave me the strength and confidence to grow. For that, I will always remain grateful.
Annamalai Anna continues to inspire many through his commitment and dedication.
As for those who spend their time constantly spreading negativity and speaking ill of him, perhaps it's time they focused on doing something meaningful with their own lives.
True leadership is built through action, not by attacking those who are working for change.
Thank you, Anna, for your mentorship, support, and leadership.

Great news from Madurai Bench of Madras High Court !!!
I had challenged the Government Order No. 321 dated 26.12.2022 passed by the anti-Temple DMK Government authorizing the @tnhrcedept to Department to acquire 58.76 acres around Sri Dhandayuthapni Swamy Temple, in Pazhani - in the name of the Department - using Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Administration Fund - contributed by temples across Tamil Nadu.
Today the matter came for final hearing before Hon'ble Justice Shri G.R. Swaminathan and Hon'ble Justice Shrimati R. Poornima
Government fairly conceded that the properties would be now bought using Pazhani Temple Funds and in the name of Pazhani temple and only a formal approval is pending from Government.
My counsel Shri @niranjanlaw law submitted that earlier Supreme Court of India had allowed such purchase of adjoining lands in the name of the Deity in the Banke Bihari Temple case.
Their Lordships recorded the submissions of the Government that the property would be in the name of Pazhani Devasthanam and further observed that the Administration fund can be used only as provided under Sections 92 and 96 of the TN HR&CE Act, 1959. This observation by their Lordships is very important.
My gratitude to Shri Joseph Vijay @CMOTamilnadu and Shri @RameshOffcl - HR&CE Minister - for the change in the approach - starkly different from the DMK anti-temple stand.
A positive Government working towards Temple welfare.
Vetrivel Muruha !!!

An Arangetram is supposed to be a sacred moment—a student’s humble ascent to the stage after a decade of devotion to Bharatanatyam. Instead, it has morphed into a multi-lakh/multi-dollar corporate industry.
Many families are being quietly pressured into an institutional "Arangetram Scam" driven by hidden markups, forced vendor monopolies, and pure social status anxiety.
👉 The Live Orchestra kickbacks
👉 Costumes & Jewellery cartel
👉 The exclusive "Margam" fee Emotional extraction
👉 Venue theaterics
👉 Audio, Video, Photography & PR potholes
Not to talk about Chief Guest fee, Gifts and Dinner. Pure vanity 🙄
From minimum 1.5L it goes to 12L basis the exploitation of status symbols.
Only few parents have identified this and opting for Arangetram at Temples, Rent on outfits, direct invoicing etc.
Art is not an asset class. When we turn a sacred debut into a status symbol, we trade culture for a corporate invoice. Let’s bring the focus back to Bhavam and Thalam, and leave the bribes and kickbacks off the stage.
An Arangetram should test a dancer’s stamina, not a parent’s life savings. If the stage costs more than the skill, it’s not an art form anymore—it’s an auction.
Let’s stop buying applause for money and appreciate pure talent and Lord Nataraja save us 🙏
It seems that this fraudulent department @tnhrcedept is telling concocted stories to Minister Mr. @RameshOffcl the new Minister for the Department.
The Department claims that only Rs. 250 crores is pending as uncollected dues from the commercial complexes belonging to the temples. In my opinion only scoundrels would have the heart to lie so brazenly, and that too in matters concerning temples. How could respectable officers who have studied law and hold respectable positions have the heart to say such things?
First of all, there is no such thing as the HR&CE (Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments) department's property. Their headquarters is located in a large space in Nungambakkam, Chennai. Can the department officials show the original title deed for this place? How can they claim that commercial complexes belong to the HR&CE department? Please correctly report to the Hon'ble Minister that the commercial complexes belong to the temples.
There are about 30 crore square feet of plots belonging to temples, lands, and mutts. If a minimum monthly lease amount of Rs. 5 per square foot is collected, it would amount to Rs. 150 crore per month. This incompetent HR&CE department should be collecting not less than Rs. 1800 crore per annum from these sites Yet, @tnhrcedept does not even collect Rs. 100 crore each year.
Do the math and see. For a period of 10 years, there is a pending balance of Rs. 17,000 crore due to the temples. If interest is added, it will cross Rs. 20,000 crore of arrears of rent that ought to have come to temples.
The Hon'ble Minister should not believe the false information provided by the department officials; instead, he should conduct a micro/forensic audit using the best chartered accountants in Tamil Nadu. Only then will two things become clear:
1. The actual income that should rightfully come to the temples.
2. The extent of the brazen lies told by the department officials in the review meetings.
Dear @BJP4India, kindly control her. Otherwise the damage she’ll do to @BJP4TamilNadu will be irreversible.
