@phylogenomics More oddly IMHO, higher GRE male students are more likely to drop out of PhD. Re: diversity, I didn't comparisons of GRE's fairness issues w/ those of subjective assessments (letters/interview) whose weight increases when GRE is dropped 4/4
@phylogenomics This may explain why GREs do not correlate w/ outcomes, even if one accepts the intuition that they should. Despite suffering from the same confounding issues, recommenders' scores are still predictive of PhD publication productivity & GRE is predictive of 1st-semester grades 3/n
