@RawbertBeef Just because he can reassemble the flesh doesn’t mean he can return its spirit. Aristotle wrote about this in “De Anima,” although he lacked the technological wherewithal to apply ἐντελέχεια to Legos.
Growing up I had a dog that said a sentence to me in English seconds before (or maybe during) an aneurism, which killed him. After a decade of bad/failed coping I had a hypnotherapist remove that sentence from my memory, but I could never remove the look in his eyes as he spoke.
you're missing the painting--which exists, not in a cartoon-like two dimensions, but in a very subtly rendered three dimensions which, obviously, you've never seen.
ask yourself why you are so hostile to an entire art movement much revered by so many, yet dare to call yourself not a hearty unapologetic philistine --one of a very large tribe--but one who aspires to something called "culture."
Tip for beginner photographers:
It’s all about the camera. Buy the most expensive camera you can find and point it wherever, taking pictures at random.
“Why don’t you just eat fucking ramen everyday? Just eat peanut butter and ramen for 50 years dumbass and invest all your money into the pico top of the gayest most fragile empire in history you dumbass idiot. Just starve and eat shit and dirt everyday for your entire life and then you can spend $30 on lunch when you’re old and about to die it’s simple. Don’t you know your 20’s are for grinding?? You’re supposed to eat shit for the majority of your life that’s why your ancestors built America. So you could eat shit and fucking die moron.”
CNN will never show you this : An Israeli settler pointing a gun at a Palestinian farmer.
"This land is mine now. Get out. Never come back"
The farmer's family worked that land for generations.
The settler flew in from Eastern Europe.
You have now been at war for 232 out of 249 years of your existence. You are the largest arms exporter on earth (40%), with 800+ military bases across 70+ countries. You are the greatest enemy of peace the world has ever known.
To understand how monstrous the US blockade on Cuba is, think about the endgame. What are they trying to achieve?
The goal is clearly to starve people to the point where they are too weak to resist an invasion, or so desperate they are willing to accept US control.
To get to this point, the US would have to plan on *very severe* starvation of the country.
Because remember, the Cubans fought a revolution against a US-backed dictatorship, and they have struggled to survive under US blockade for half a century. They will not surrender their sovereignty easily, they will fight to the bitter end, and the US understands this.
The US is gearing up for genocidal crimes. They backed the genocide in Gaza precisely in order to set a precedent that would allow them to do this themselves.
It is pure, wanton barbarism. Every decent person with any shred of human values must resist this campaign with all their might.
Reading parts of the Epstein files and you find out that Epstein and the bourgeoisie in general understood what the threat was. The only thing that terrified these inhuman monsters was communism/communists. The ruling class understands who their enemy is, do you know who yours is
I watched “Hamnet” at a screening.
In just 126 minutes, it encapsulates all the sorrow, pain, loss, fear, love and joy, healing and hope found in life across all times and cultures. That beautiful final scene has the power to rewrite the history of cinema. It lays bare the miracle of movies. To be able to create something like this, Chloé Zhao must be a witch, or perhaps an angel.
@shroxxy@Echoplex25@sethsfilmreview I think literally every facet of it is better than the first 2. More personality, cooler editing, better music. An incredibly touching story about nature, love and death. Not to mention the best and most original visuals I've seen in years.
