Very saddened by the passing of Ambassador Konjit Sinegiorgis. She was a legend—not only within @MFAEthiopia, but also at the @_AfricanUnion.
I had the privilege of knowing her during my time at the #AU, where she represented #Ethiopia with distinction. In both the Peace and Security Council and the Permanent Representatives Committee, she was a voice of rigor, transparency, and unwavering commitment—people listened when she spoke.
I later worked with her again after her retirement, when she led the African Women Peace and Security Institute as Executive Director. As a board member, I saw firsthand her remarkable energy and dedication.
I also recall our long conversations about her extraordinary trajectory—impressive in every respect. Many will testify to her qualities. Her experience deserves to be widely shared; there is so much to learn from it.
My heartfelt condolences to her family, colleagues, and all who were inspired by her.
