Why don't we set daily testing targets on the basis of percentage of population of districts? Lockdown can be based on the positivity rate. If a district has more than x% +ve rate, implement lockdown there.

New recommendation - difference of two doses of covidshield should be 12-16 weeks.
It's a good move as more people will get 1st dose & it cuts transmission by half.
However, better move would have been if govt had invested to increase the production earlier.

Almost all BJP and Non-BJP states decreased the health infrastructure b/w 1st & 2nd wave.

In Haryana & Punjab, no. of ventilators were decreased by 80%. One is ruled by @BJP4India & the other by @INCIndia.

Between the peak of the 1st Covid-19 wave and the beginning of the 2nd wave, Only Telangana, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and J&K increased their oxygen-supported beds.

After the first wave, while there were 2,70,710 oxygen-supported beds on December 29, 2020, by January 28 the figure fell to just 1,57,344 ---a fall of 42 per cent.

The decline in ICU beds and ventilators was 11 per cent and 42 per cent, respectively.

As per parliament data, During the Apr20-Sep20 period:

Oxygen beds: increased from 62k to 2.5 lacs
ICU Beds: increased from 27k to 66k
Ventilator: 13k to 33k

Highest reported active cases were 10 lacs during this period. We somehow managed the first wave.

In other words, between April 2020 and September 2020 last year, the number of oxygen-supported beds increased by 297 per cent; ICU beds by 143 per cent; and ventilators by 151 per cent.
