When will the fees collected apart from tuition fees in private medical colleges be properly regulated?
There should be clear transparency, reasonable limits and an effective cap on additional charges imposed on MBBS students.
The disclosure the government released is no where matching with the reality..
Why should hostel and transportation be compulsory when a student may have their own accommodation or means of transport?
And what about charges for books and instruments?
Why should a particular set of books be compulsory when MBBS students may prefer different authors, editions, or even legitimate digital resources?
Shouldn’t students have the freedom to choose the books and learning resources they actually need?
If a student already has access to digital textbooks, why should they be compelled to pay for physical books they do not require?
Medical education is already financially demanding.
Tuition fees should not be the only component under scrutiny—every additional charge should be transparent, justified, and proportionate.
Tuition fees itself is not in the affordable range 🤷🏻♂️
We need a system where students pay for education, not unnecessary compulsion.
I understand the previous government silence in this matter being themselves the person running it.
What’s stopping this government in reviewing it and regulate these additional fees with clear caps and student choice?

@rajakumaari Reports suggest the government is likely to withdraw the decision. If the rollback is already decided, why delay the announcement? Why drag it further? 🤔
People have started moving towards Arogya, and accessibility is a major reason. 🥛
I am quite certain that if Aavin milk is made available in every local store, with proper distribution across shops, people will choose Aavin.
But in an entire constituency, there is reportedly only one Aavin outlet outside Chennai.
Instead of travelling 3–5 km to buy Aavin milk, people naturally choose Arogya because it is available nearby. Aavin may cost ₹30, while Arogya is now ₹43 for half a litre, yet people still buy it simply because it is accessible.
Even for those willing to travel 3–5 km to buy Aavin, there is no guarantee that the stock will be available. More often than not, the response is, “Stock is out.”
The Aavin distribution issue has been raised several times already. I honestly don’t know if anyone is listening 👂
Sometimes, one can’t help but wonder whether vested commercial interests are influencing the lack of Aavin’s wider accessibility. 🤔
Accessibility matters. Make Aavin available where people actually shop, and people will choose it. 🥛💙

Constructive criticism is the best way to demonstrate genuine goodwill towards a government. 🤝
A government can function successfully only when shortcomings are identified and constructively addressed. 🏛️
Such constructive criticism should continue without compromise, with issues being pointed out and practical suggestions being offered in the hope that the CM himself notices them and acts on them, or that the right people bring them to his notice and facilitate the necessary corrections in the interest of the state. 🙏
There will always be mouthpieces who blindly defend everything, and there is no need to respond to every one of them.
Mouthpieces will be mouthpieces. 😁
What matters is that genuine voices are far more valuable than such mouthpieces. 🗣️
This is also one of the strengths of this political space compared to the Dravidian parties, where voices often become subdued when it comes to questioning their own leadership.
At the same time, the approach and, particularly, the tone of criticism can be improved. Instead of saying that a person should remain as an MLA for five years, a more constructive approach would be to suggest reducing the portfolio so that the minister can concentrate better and perform more effectively. After all, it cannot be said that the remaining 33 ministers are more efficient; it may simply be that the inefficiencies of a particular minister are more visible. 🎯
Constructive criticism and genuine appreciation should continue together, with the larger objective being to help the government improve and successfully lead the state.
Let TN succeed! 🚀💫

The majority of the officers seem quite occupied —making all the necessary “arrangements” and ensuring that everything falls perfectly into place for their relative to receive the Magalir Urimai Thogai.

I personally tired and frustrated with the government & #Govt officers who failed/failing to help such needy students.
What kind of the system we operate that don't bother such people getting help.

The Chief Minister of a state deserves the highest level of security. If there are lapses even in the protection of a Chief Minister, it naturally raises concerns among the people about how secure they are themselves.
Security arrangements for constitutional posts like including Chief Ministers and Prime Ministers, should never be compromised.
As a former police officer, you are well aware that such security protocols are necessary. You have personally been responsible for providing similar security arrangements to Chief Minister in Karnataka.
Therefore, suggesting that the public is being unnecessarily inconvenienced by the security arrangements during a Chief Minister’s visit is not appropriate.
The same protocols apply when the Prime Minister visits Tamil Nadu. Roads are diverted, traffic is restricted, and extensive security arrangements are made, causing inconvenience to the public—but these measures are followed because they are part of the established security protocol.
When you were the BJP’s state president, did you ever tell the Prime Minister that his visits were inconveniencing the people of Tamil Nadu and ask him not to come ??
If not, questioning the same security protocols now is nothing short of “hypocrisy”.
Security cannot be treated as a matter of convenience or political criticism; the same standards must apply consistently.

😂😂 Honestly, the creativity seems to activate at maximum power when there’s an opportunity to cheat or corrupt. If only that same energy went into doing things honestly the state would be somewhere else 🥲😟😂

No curtain can hide the dawn forever…
I feel one of TVK’s greatest strengths is that its genuine supporters have the courage to criticise their own party when the criticism is fair and necessary.
The well-wishers of the government often bring forward what they hear and observe among the general public — suggestions and concerns that could almost serve as a public-pulse report from the intelligence.
Perhaps that is also why such observations can be valuable to the government.
The Chief Minister, till date, has shown a willingness to consider criticism when it is conveyed constructively and has taken decisions keeping public concerns in mind.
In that spirit, perhaps even difficult observations can be expressed through practical suggestions, genuine questions, and, most importantly, a tone that leaves room for dialogue.
In fact, many did not have the courage to voice such criticism against the previous government, as many felt there was little room for dissent or freedom of expression. In that way should genuinely appreciate the approach of the CM and the governance.
There may be several mouthpieces that choose to turn a blind eye, but refusing to acknowledge genuine criticism will never make a government stronger.
A government becomes stronger when it has the space to hear what is uncomfortable as well as what is encouraging.
Truth strengthens; denial only delays the reckoning.
