True, but corporate and NGO executives get cars and fuel perks as standard tools of the trade to do their jobs. Why should MPs be different? On average, a Ugandan MP represents 90,000 people. That breaks down to approx. UGX 3,333 (<$1) per citizen. It’s a utility, not a luxury.

And some corporate jobs and NGO jobs come with cars and fuel and some of the benefits, why should MPs be any different...in Uganda on average each MP represents 90,000 people...meaning ideally the approximate tax payer money per citizen which contributes to the car is UGX 3,333 less than 1 USD.
