"A Child’s View of Gaza" No 8
One of many drawings by the children of Gaza (2011) that Jewish organizations pressured an Oakland children’s museum to cancel. Community leaders say the shutting down of the exhibition was the result of a disturbing — and well-funded — campaign to silence Palestinian voices across the US.
I will be re-posting all the drawings over the next couple of weeks, we'll have our own exhibition for them.
There can no longer be any question about it, @FranceskAlbs is aligned with US imperialism at a strategic level, even if she abhors their tactics. She aligns with them in continually delegitimizing the only forces materially challenging zionism and imperialism in the region
Today was one of the most horrifying days of my life as an academic. Walking through Iran University of Science and Technology, a top-ranked public university in Iran, I was struck by the devastation. Only last month, this campus was alive with students, bustling between classrooms. Now, parts of the campus lie in ruins, classrooms shattered, hallways choked with dust and shattered glass.
I saw the offices of professors burned. A newly renovated building, where students gathered for programs, for socializing, for life, destructed.
One student, tearfully, told me: “My professor’s office was still burning a little. That’s where I used to wait for office hours. To ask questions. To appeal my grade.”
This is the same university that launched Iran’s Omid and Zafar 2 satellites, symbols of homegrown technological achievement. A week ago, one of its professors was assassinated. Yesterday, they bombed it.
From sanctions to targeted killings, to the bombing of research centers and universities, there’s a clear pattern: de-development & de-industrialisation/ the systematic dismantling of a nation’s indigenous development, its industrial base, its capacity to stand on its own.
We will never forget that as the American and Zionist war criminals blatantly target universities, schools, hospitals/ assassinating professors and killing children, and after 2 years or genocice, western intellectuals are still debating whether or not to pass a symbolic, non-enforceable BDS resolution.
Photos taken by me, full report incoming.
Was at a forum earlier. I asked anti-imperialist intellectuals about organizing. Response I got was essentially "these are questions solved on ur own in practice"
True, but no other insight? Nothing abt practices other countries?
A detached intellectual is useless to movements
Instead of leaving such questions for organizers, maybe it would be nice that intellectuals themselves are involved in organizing and the political struggles that come with it. Miss me with the "autonomous" intellectual who's all academizing and theorizing in the academy.
im gonna remind folks that palestinian academics who are in palestine studies will rarely give a reasonable critique of zohran because the academic circles are tight and his father is a gatekeeper at columbia. keep that in mind.
Vali Nasr is the son of Hossein Nasr, the Pahlavi regime’s favorite Mufti.
After the revolution, they fled to the US where Vali became an advisor to George Bush while he invaded Iraq.
To avenge his father, he wrote a book claiming Imam Khomeini said “economics is for donkeys.”
My mom called me after about a week….🥺We spoke for only five minutes, but this is what she told me about the real situation in Iran:
1. They are targeting police stations and Basij bases, but they don’t understand that the real army is the 90 million Iranians.
2.Many buildings have been destroyed and many have been martyred, yet the spirit of the people is incredibly strong and they feel victorious.
3. Instead of prices rising during wartime, we are actually seeing prices of groceries, the dollar, and other goods going down.
4. People are literally always in the streets for they fear another foreign backed riot
A central strategic message by Iran is that the United States is neither an effective source of deterrence nor a guarantor of security for Persian Gulf states.

Influencers recruited to spread propaganda for Israel now suing over lack of payment
——
Israel’s national propaganda apparatus is facing a widening legal and political crisis as propagandists, consultants, and production firms file lawsuits worth millions of shekels against the state. According to Israeli outlet Calcalist, many claim they were urgently recruited at the height of the Gaza genocide to wage Israel’s global media campaign, only to later discover the government had failed to pay for their services.
The scandal intensified after investigators uncovered financial irregularities, forged signatures, and severe staffing shortages inside the Prime Minister’s Office, the body that assumed control of Israel’s international messaging after the Ministry of Information collapsed following 7 October. Instead of formal tenders, officials reportedly rushed to expand existing contracts with private production companies, which were then used as payment channels for pro-Israel commentators and consultants deployed abroad.
Several of those companies now accuse the government of withholding large sums. One firm, Intellect Production and Publishing Group, is suing the state for roughly 1.7 million shekels after helping finance travel and media operations aimed at countering pro-Palestine demonstrations during International Court of Justice hearings. Another company, Speedy Call, built a 24-hour interview studio inside Israel’s Kirya military headquarters used by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior officials, yet says the state now refuses to pay more than 600,000 shekels for nine months of work. The mounting lawsuits are exposing a chaotic propaganda network built in haste during the genocide, now unraveling under the weight of unpaid bills and internal misconduct investigations.
Two things can be true at once: You can pretend to be on the left or show sympathy with people being massacred and still actively advance imperialism's fascist and genocidal agenda.
So @FranceskAlbs your first thought when seeing a photo of 165 school girls deliberately murdered by the US and Israel is to reproduce the false and reductive characterization of the Islamic Republic through which the mass murderers seek to justify their actions?
In case nuclear doomsday is around the corner, I'd like to take this time to acknowledge @democracynow , @jacobin , @thenation , and all the other Fake Leftists who helped the Syria domino fall by flacking for all the "Arab Spring" and McJihad bullshit.
