Today the sun will set on the Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service. End of an era but the start of a new chapter in the Service's history as we become the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service under a new Combined Fire Authority. Thanks to all serving and past members.
Fire Control just received a 999 call to three teenagers stuck in baby swings in a park in Cowes. Though obliged to attend for humanitarian reasons, this is a waste of our time and resources & a cost to the community, the teenagers should have been at home.... #StayHomeStaySafe
1⃣3⃣ on-call firefighters have celebrated passing their wholetime training today 👩🚒👨🚒
Congratulations to all for achieving the next steps in their careers with #TeamHants and @iwightfire 🎉🥳

Our Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Steve Apter will be retiring in June 2021, after more than 30 years’ service.
Steve has been instrumental in both Hampshire and the Isle of Wight’s success and he will be sorely missed by staff across both services.

With Lockdown 3, more people are waking for their daily exercise. If there is no footway or footpath, walk on the right-hand side of the road so you can see oncoming traffic. This will give you time to react if the veh has not seen you. Also wear bright clothing. #RoadSafety
